Exporting Knowledge Base Tables to CSV

You can export any table from your Knowledge Base as a CSV file, allowing you to analyze, validate, or back up structured data used by AI agents. This guide explains how to download tables, the types available for export, and important security features.

Benefits of Exporting Tables

Exporting Knowledge Base tables to CSV offers several advantages:

  • Reuse structured data externally: Open CSV files in tools like Excel or Google Sheets to create reports, visualize data, or combine with other datasets.
  • Streamline quality assurance: Review the exact data powering AI responses to troubleshoot issues or validate updates.
  • Create backups: Save snapshots of important tables (e.g., pricing, policies) before making changes, enabling easy comparison or manual restoration.
  • Consistent export process: Whether your table originated from a CSV upload or a Google Sheets integration, the download method is the same.
  • Secure access: Download links expire after a short period, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

How to Download a Table as CSV

Follow these steps to export a table:

  1. Navigate to AI Agents → Knowledge Base and open a specific Knowledge Base.
  2. Select the Tables tab to view all table sources.
  3. For any table with a status of Ready, click the three-dot action menu at the end of its row.
  4. Choose Download CSV from the menu.
  5. The file will download immediately. Note that the link expires after approximately 15 minutes.

If a table is still processing, wait until its status changes to Ready before attempting to download.

Supported Table Types

You can export tables created from:

  • CSV uploads: Tables uploaded directly into the Knowledge Base (with limits such as 50,000 rows and 50 MB per file).
  • Google Sheets integrations: Live tables connected via Google Sheets, which sync periodically. The download reflects the most recently synced version.

Both types are used by AI agents for structured data queries and are eligible for export once processing is complete.

CSV downloads adhere to your Knowledge Base’s security settings:

  • Only users with permission to view and manage tables (e.g., admins and editors) can download them.
  • Each download link expires after about 15 minutes. If a link is accessed after expiration, a new download must be initiated from the Tables tab.

This ensures your data remains protected while allowing authorized users convenient access for exports.
