How to Package and Distribute AI Agents Using Snapshots
Overview: Distributing AI Agents Across Accounts
Account Snapshots provide a powerful way to package your AI agents from the Agent Studio and deploy them to other sub-accounts within your agency. This allows you to replicate successful agent configurations, maintain consistency across clients, and streamline onboarding.
What Gets Packaged in an Agent Snapshot?
When you create a snapshot containing one or more AI agents, the following elements are preserved:
- The complete agent flow structure and logic
- All node configurations and settings
- Connected knowledge bases (if explicitly selected)
- The agent's version state (Draft, Staging, or Production)
- Any other supporting assets you choose to include
Creating a Snapshot with Your AI Agents
Step 1: Access Account Snapshots
From the Agency view, navigate to the Account Snapshots section and click the option to create a new snapshot.
Step 2: Select Source Account and Name
Give your snapshot a descriptive name and select the specific sub-account that contains the AI agents you want to package.
Step 3: Choose Agent Studio Assets
In the asset selection screen, expand the Agent Studio category. Here you can:
- Select individual AI agents to include
- Choose any connected knowledge bases
- Add other supporting assets like workflows or custom values
Important: If your agent relies on a knowledge base, you must select that knowledge base during this step. The snapshot only packages what you explicitly choose.
Step 4: Create and Review
Click to create the snapshot. After processing, you'll see a details screen confirming which agents and assets were included.
Loading Agent Snapshots into Target Accounts
Loading into a Single Sub-Account
Navigate to your Sub-Accounts list in Agency view. Click the menu icon next to the target account, select the client management option, then choose to load a snapshot. Select your agent snapshot, ensure the Agent Studio category is selected, and confirm the import. The agents will appear in that account's Agent Studio.
Pushing to Multiple Accounts Simultaneously
From the Account Snapshots section, open your snapshot and select the option to push it. You can then select multiple sub-accounts for bulk deployment. The system will guide you through asset selection and conflict checking.
Managing Conflicts and Updates
Resolving Import Conflicts
If the target account already contains an asset with the same name, you'll be prompted to resolve the conflict. You can choose to keep both copies or overwrite the existing one.
Updating Snapshots
When you modify an agent in your source account, you can refresh its snapshot. Return to Account Snapshots, select your snapshot, and choose the refresh option. This creates a new version with the latest configuration, which you can then push to accounts.
Sharing Snapshots Externally
Snapshots containing AI agents can be shared outside your agency. From the Account Snapshots section, use the menu next to your snapshot to generate a share link. Recipients can use this link to load your packaged agents into their own CRM accounts.
Important Considerations
What Snapshots Do Not Include
Snapshots transfer configuration and selected assets only. They do not include:
- Contact records
- Conversation history or messages
- Any live data or usage logs
Required Permissions
To create snapshots, users need the "Create Snapshots" permission. To load or share snapshots, the "Share/Import Snapshots" permission is required. These are managed by your account administrator.
Common Questions
Will loading a snapshot overwrite my existing agents?
Only if an agent with identical identification exists. The system will prompt you to resolve any conflicts before proceeding.
Are knowledge bases included automatically?
No. You must explicitly select any knowledge bases during snapshot creation for them to be packaged with your agents.
Can I preserve different version states?
Yes. An agent's version state (Draft, Staging, or Production) is preserved in the snapshot and maintained when loaded into another account.
