Knowledge Base Overview

The Knowledge Base is a centralized workspace within your CRM where you can create, organize, and manage content sources for AI-powered tools. This refreshed interface offers a clearer, more structured way to handle your knowledge resources, making it easier to see what content is available and how it is organized.

You can access the Knowledge Base by navigating to AI Agents and selecting Knowledge Base from the menu.

Key Benefits of the Updated Interface

The redesigned Knowledge Base provides several advantages for content management:

  • Improved visibility: Quickly see all available content and its sources.
  • Faster navigation: Use dedicated tabs to manage different source types without leaving the page.
  • Centralized management: Create, review, and update Knowledge Bases from a single location.
  • Consistent experience: Enjoy a uniform layout and functionality across all supported CRM products.
  • Simplified maintenance: Easily add new sources or update existing ones with intuitive controls.

What’s New in the Knowledge Base

The updated interface introduces several enhancements to improve usability:

Summary View

Each Knowledge Base now opens to a Summary view, offering a high-level overview of connected sources and overall structure. This helps you quickly assess the current state of your knowledge resources.

Tabbed Data Sources

All data sources are organized into individual tabs based on their type. This allows you to manage and review specific content categories—such as web pages, FAQs, or uploaded files—without navigating to different pages. New source types will appear as additional tabs as they become available.

Unified Component

The Knowledge Base now uses a shared, consistent component across multiple products in the CRM, ensuring a seamless experience wherever it is accessed.

Supported Source Types

When you open a Knowledge Base, you will see tabs for different source types, which may include:

  • Web Crawler
  • FAQ
  • Web Search
  • Tables
  • Rich Text
  • File Upload

Each tab displays the number of connected items and provides options to add or manage sources.

Intended Users

The refreshed Knowledge Base interface is designed for:

  • Admins who manage Knowledge Bases and data sources.
  • Editors who curate and maintain knowledge content.
  • Viewer-only users can access content where permitted but do not see management controls.

What Has Not Changed

This update does not alter:

  • How content is written or edited.
  • User permissions or access levels.
  • Indexing logic or AI behavior.
  • Existing Knowledge Bases or sources.

Availability

The updated Knowledge Base interface is being rolled out gradually. If you do not yet see the Summary view or tabbed sources, they will appear automatically once the update reaches your account. No action is required on your part.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Summary view?

The Summary view provides a high-level snapshot of a Knowledge Base, showing connected sources and overall structure.

Does creating a Knowledge Base automatically connect it to an AI agent?

No. You must manually connect the Knowledge Base to the relevant AI tool or agent before it can support AI responses.

Which source type should I use?

Use Web Crawler for website content, FAQ for question-and-answer pairs, Tables for structured data, Rich Text for manually written content, and File Upload for documents.
