Resolving Google Calendar Writer Access Error

Understanding the Writer Access Error

When connecting your Google Calendar to your CRM, you might encounter an error stating that you need "writer access" to sync appointments. This means the CRM requires permission to create and modify events in your Google Calendar.

Granting Writer Access to Your Google Calendar

To resolve this error, the owner of the Google Calendar needs to grant the appropriate permissions. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Access Google Calendar Settings

Log into your Google account and navigate to calendar.google.com. Locate the calendar you want to connect to your CRM.

Step 2: Open Calendar Settings

Hover your cursor over the desired calendar, then click the three-dot menu icon that appears. From the dropdown menu, select Settings and sharing.

Step 3: Share with Specific People

Scroll down to the section labeled Share with specific people. Click the Add people button.

In the dialog box that appears, enter the email address associated with the Google account that is linked to your CRM. For the permissions level, select Make changes to events. Finally, click Send to save the changes and send the invitation.

After Granting Access

Once these permissions are granted, the CRM will have the necessary writer access. You should now be able to successfully sync the Google Calendar with your CRM without encountering the error.
