Using Stop on Response in Campaigns

About Stop on Response

The Stop on Response feature in your CRM allows you to configure campaigns to automatically halt further communication with a contact once they take a specific action, such as replying to a text message or clicking a link in an email. This helps prevent over-messaging and ensures your outreach remains respectful and effective.

How to Enable Stop on Response

To enable this setting for a campaign:

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns section in your CRM.
  2. Select the campaign you wish to edit or create a new one.
  3. Within the campaign configuration, locate the Stop on Response option.
  4. Toggle the setting to the On position.
  5. Save your changes to apply the new behavior.

How It Works

When Stop on Response is active, the campaign will monitor each contact for the designated response type. If a contact replies to a text message sent by the campaign or interacts with a tracked element (like an email link), the system will immediately stop sending any further messages from that campaign to that contact. The contact remains in the campaign but will not receive additional steps.

Best Practices

  • Use this feature for campaigns where a response indicates the contact has engaged and may not need further nurturing.
  • Combine with other automation rules to route responsive contacts to appropriate follow-up sequences or labels.
  • Test the feature with a small group before rolling it out broadly to ensure it meets your expectations.
