Automatically Capturing Email and Phone Numbers from Facebook Messages

Automatic Contact Data Capture from Facebook

When a new conversation begins via Facebook Messenger, your CRM automatically creates a contact record using the name provided by the Facebook user. This process ensures no potential lead is lost.

Capturing Email Addresses and Phone Numbers

If the contact voluntarily shares their email address or phone number within the Facebook chat, the system will intelligently capture this information and update their contact record.

  • Email Addresses: Any email address shared in the chat will be automatically added to the primary email field of the corresponding contact.
  • Phone Numbers: Similarly, any phone number shared in the chat will be automatically added to the primary phone number field for that contact.

This happens in real-time, ensuring the contact's profile is immediately enriched with the information they provide, making it available for follow-up campaigns, segmentation, or outreach without any manual data entry.

How It Works

The feature is fully automatic and requires no setup or configuration on your part. Once your Facebook page is connected to the CRM's Conversations inbox, the system will monitor incoming messages for patterns that match email addresses and phone numbers. When detected, it updates the existing contact record created from the initial message.

If a contact shares updated information later in the conversation, the system will overwrite the previously captured data in the relevant field with the new information.
