Bulk WhatsApp Actions

Overview

Bulk WhatsApp Actions enable you to send approved WhatsApp template messages to a large number of contacts simultaneously. This feature allows you to track the performance of your campaign with detailed statistics on delivery, read receipts, errors, and skipped contacts. You can use this tool to run campaigns directly from your contact lists or smart lists, sending messages immediately, scheduling them for the future, or setting up a drip sequence.

Key features include the ability to preview a template before sending, see its category and language, and easily replace media files from your device. It is important to note that only approved WhatsApp templates can be used for bulk actions, and all Meta messaging limits and WhatsApp policies apply.

How to Send Bulk WhatsApp Messages

1. Select Contacts

Navigate to the Contacts section. Use the available filters or select a Smart List to find the contacts you wish to message. You can select contacts individually or choose the option to select all records in the list.

2. Initiate the Bulk Action

With your contacts selected, click the WhatsApp icon located in the Bulk Actions toolbar. Then, select the option to send a WhatsApp message to start creating your campaign.

3. Choose and Preview a Template

Select an approved WhatsApp template from the list. A preview of the template will be displayed, showing the message content, its category (such as Marketing or Utility), and the language. You must also provide a name for this campaign for future reference. Choose when to send the messages: immediately, on a schedule, or in drip mode.

4. Replace Media (Optional)

If your chosen template includes a media file, you can replace it by clicking the Replace media option in the preview. Select a new file from your local device, and the preview will update. This change only applies to this specific campaign and does not alter the original approved template.

5. Launch the Campaign

Review all the campaign details and confirm the action to begin sending. The system will start processing the bulk WhatsApp campaign.

6. Monitor Progress

To check the status of your campaign, go to Contacts and then to the Bulk Actions section. Locate your WhatsApp campaign and click on View Details or Show Stats to monitor its progress.

7. View Detailed Statistics

Clicking on the campaign statistics opens a detailed view with several tabs. These tabs show counts for the total number of contacts, and those with a status of Pending, Sent, Delivered, Read, Error, or Skipped. You can also export these statistics for reporting purposes.

Understanding Campaign Statistics

The campaign statistics provide a breakdown of your message delivery:

  • Total: The overall number of contacts included in the bulk action.
  • Pending: Contacts whose messages have not yet been sent.
  • Sent: Contacts to whom the message has been dispatched.
  • Delivered: Contacts who have successfully received the message.
  • Read: Contacts who have opened and read the message.
  • Error: Contacts for whom delivery failed. This can occur if the contact is not on WhatsApp, there are template issues, Meta messaging limits are exceeded, or there are account restrictions.
  • Skipped: Contacts who were excluded from the campaign. This can happen due to Do-Not-Disturb (DND) settings, a missing phone number, or other messaging restrictions.
