What Are Community Polls?

Community Polls allow you to create interactive voting posts directly within your CRM's community feed. Instead of directing members elsewhere, you can gather feedback, opinions, and insights right where they already engage with content. This native feature keeps the conversation flowing and makes participation simple for everyone.

How to Create a Poll

Note: This feature requires your community to be using the updated client portal view.

Step 1: Enable the New Client Portal (If Needed)

  1. Navigate to Memberships in your CRM.
  2. Under Client Portal, click Try the new Client Portal if it's not already active.
  3. Select the confirmation checkbox and click Enable for everyone.

Step 2: Create Your Poll Post

  1. Go to Communities and open Groups.
  2. Click Login on the specific group where you want to post the poll.
  3. Click Create a post.
  4. Enter a Title and Description for your post.
  5. Click the Poll button to open the poll creation panel.
  6. Add your answer options (between 2 and 10). You can reorder or delete options as needed.
  7. Toggle Allow multiple answers on if you want members to select more than one option.
  8. Toggle Allow Members to See Results on or off based on your preference.
  9. Set an optional end date and time for the poll.
  10. Click Post to publish the poll to the community feed.

How many options can I add to a poll?

You can add between 2 and 10 answer options.

Is there a character limit for each option?

Yes, each poll option can contain up to 100 characters.

Can members select more than one answer?

Yes, if you enable the Allow multiple answers setting when creating the poll.

What happens if I turn off result visibility for members?

Members can still vote, but they will not see any vote counts or live percentages. They will only see which option(s) they selected.

What occurs when the poll end date arrives?

The poll is automatically marked as Closed, and members can no longer submit or change their votes.

Can I edit a poll after publishing it?

Yes. The creator of the poll can edit it after publishing. You can also add new answer options at any time.

Can members change their vote?

Yes, members can change their vote. They will typically be prompted to confirm the change before it is finalized.
