How to Dispute a Google Review and Check Dispute Status
Overview
You can dispute a Google review directly from your CRM if you believe it violates Google's policies, such as containing spam, fake content, or offensive language. When you report a review, Google may remove it or take action against the reviewer if it breaches their guidelines.
Note: You can only dispute a review from the Conversations tab if it was automatically generated by the system. For reviews not generated by the system, you must start the dispute process through an external link.
Reporting a Google Review from the Conversations Tab
To report a review from your CRM:
- Navigate to the Conversations tab.
- Search for and select the contact associated with the review you wish to dispute.
- Click Dispute this review.
- Confirm the Google email and business account linked to the Google Business Profile review.
- Select the option to report a new review for removal.
- Google will display a list of your recent reviews. You can view a review on Google Maps or submit a takedown request.
Checking the Status of a Reported Review
Tip: Google review cards in Conversations now show the name of the associated Google Business Profile page, helping you verify the correct business before disputing or responding.
To check the status of a review you have already reported:
- From the dispute prompt, choose the option to check the status of a previously reported review.
- The system will show a list of your reported reviews and their current statuses.
- Select a review to view a summary and, if your takedown request was denied, submit an appeal.
Note: Google limits the number of reviews displayed in this feature. Accounts managing a large number of business listings (e.g., over 30) may find this process unavailable.
