Applying Dashboard Configurations with Account Snapshots

Account snapshots allow you to package a dashboard setup from one location and apply it to another. This is particularly useful for agencies who want to standardize reporting views or quickly provision new locations with pre-configured analytics. The process saves the layout, widgets, filters, and conditions of your dashboards for easy transfer.

Creating a Dashboard Snapshot

First, you need to create a snapshot containing the dashboards you wish to replicate.

  1. From the Agency view, navigate to the Account Snapshots section.
  2. Click the button to Create New Snapshot.
  3. Give your snapshot a descriptive name and select the source account where your desired dashboard setup currently exists.
  4. Save the snapshot. It will then appear in your list of available snapshots.

Loading a Snapshot into a Target Location

Once you have a saved snapshot, you can load it into another location.

  1. Choose the target location. This can be a new account you are creating or an existing sub-account from your list.
  2. For the chosen location, find and select the Load Snapshot action from the available options.
  3. Search for and select the snapshot you created earlier.
  4. You will see a list of assets within the snapshot. Locate the Dashboards category.
  5. Select all the dashboards you want to apply to the target location. Note: Dashboards marked as private in the source account are not available in the snapshot list.
  6. If you wish to set a default dashboard for the new location, select it from the list during this step.
  7. Confirm your selections and proceed. The system will notify you when the snapshot has been successfully loaded.

Viewing and Finalizing Loaded Dashboards

After the loading process is complete, navigate to the target location. You will find the newly loaded dashboards in the dashboard list, complete with their widgets, conditions, and filters.

Important Considerations

While dashboards are transferred with their core components, some dependencies require attention:

  • Linked Assets: Dashboard widgets often reference other assets, such as custom fields or pipelines. When loading a snapshot, ensure you also include these linked assets. If they are missing, you may see an error message on the dashboard indicating missing properties.
  • To resolve such errors, edit the affected widget, correct the property reference (e.g., re-select the correct pipeline or custom value), and save the dashboard.
