Bulk Delete and Restore Records for Custom Objects, Companies, and Tasks
The bulk delete feature enables you to remove multiple Custom Object, Company, or Task records simultaneously, streamlining data cleanup efforts. This is particularly useful after imports, deduplication projects, or large-scale data management tasks. Records deleted through supported bulk deletion jobs can be restored from the Bulk Actions page within 60 days, providing a safety net against accidental data loss.
Key Benefits
Bulk delete enhances efficiency in managing large datasets while offering recovery options for eligible deletions. It simplifies the removal of outdated, duplicate, or incorrectly imported records without tedious manual processes.
- Faster Cleanup: Delete multiple records in a single action instead of individually.
- Enhanced Custom Object Management: Use multi-select checkboxes in the list view to bulk delete Custom Object records directly.
- No Record Limit for Companies and Tasks: Delete large groups without the previous 100-record restriction.
- Safer Deletion: Restore eligible records within 60 days via the Bulk Actions page.
- Improved Visibility: Track deletion progress, status, and statistics from the Bulk Actions page.
- Cleaner Relationships: Remove relations, associations, and association labels of deleted records while preserving related records.
Supported Record Types
Bulk delete is available for specific record types that support list-view selection and deletion actions.
- Custom Object records
- Company records
- Task records
For Custom Objects, use multi-select checkboxes in the Custom Objects list view. For Companies and Tasks, bulk delete now supports larger deletion jobs without the previous 100-record cap.
What Happens During Bulk Deletion
Bulk deletion removes selected records and clears their relationship data, preventing them from appearing in associations or labels post-deletion. Related records themselves are not deleted.
- The selected record is deleted.
- Relations connected to the deleted record are removed.
- Associations connected to the deleted record are removed.
- Association labels connected to the deleted record are removed.
- Related records remain intact.
Important: Before relying on restore for relationship recovery, confirm whether restored records regain their previous relations, associations, and labels.
