Configuring Course Access Rules in Communities

The Communities feature includes flexible options to control how members can access courses. As a community administrator, you can set rules that align with your engagement goals or monetization plans.

Available Course Access Options

When setting up a course, you can select from four different methods to unlock access for members.

All Members

This option grants immediate access to the course for every member of the community. No restrictions or requirements are applied.

Level Unlock

You can require members to achieve a specific leaderboard level within the community before they can enroll. This is useful for incentivizing participation and activity.

Buy Now

This option allows you to sell the course. Members can purchase instant access. You can configure the price and set it up as a one-time purchase or a subscription.

Time Unlock

Access to the course is granted automatically after a member has been in the community for a specified number of days. This is ideal for drip-feeding content or creating a structured onboarding sequence.

How to Set Up Course Access

Follow these steps to configure the unlock method for a course.

1. In your community admin panel, navigate to the course you wish to configure.
2. Locate the course settings and find the section for access rules.
3. Select one of the four unlock options:
   • All Members: No further configuration is needed.
   • Level Unlock: Specify the required leaderboard level.
   • Buy Now: Enter the price and configure payment options.
   • Time Unlock: Define the number of days after joining before access is granted.
4. Save your changes. The new access rules will apply to members going forward.

Can I use more than one unlock option on a single course?
No. You must select a single access method for each course.

Can I modify the unlock settings after the course is live?
Yes, you can change the settings at any time. However, the changes will only affect new members who enroll after the update. Existing members will keep the access they had under the previous rules.
