Creating a Custom Dashboard

Introduction to Custom Dashboards

A Custom Dashboard is a personalized analytics hub within your CRM sub-account. It allows you to assemble key performance indicators (KPIs) from various areas like contacts, appointments, opportunities, calls, and revenue into a single, cohesive view. You have full control over the layout, the specific widgets you include, the metrics they display, the visual design, and even the scheduling of automated report deliveries.

Advantages of Using Custom Dashboards

Leveraging Custom Dashboards offers several key benefits for managing your business data effectively.

  • Multiple Dashboards: Create specialized dashboards for different purposes, such as Sales, Marketing, or Finance, and even set one as your default view.
  • Flexible Widgets and Metrics: Add and customize widgets with a wide range of metrics to highlight the information most important to you.
  • Scheduled Reporting: Automate the delivery of dashboard reports to your team on a schedule that fits your needs.
  • Complete Customization: Personalize the appearance of your dashboards with custom themes, colors, and backgrounds to align with your brand identity.
  • Deeper Data Analysis: Analyze your data through multiple visualization formats to gain better insights.
  • Universal Widgets: Incorporate versatile widgets to build a dashboard that supports your agency's specific workflow.

How to Create a Custom Dashboard

Follow these steps to build your own custom dashboard from scratch.

Step 1: Navigate to the Dashboard Section

First, go to the Dashboard area within your chosen sub-account.

Step 2: Add a New Dashboard

Click on the Dashboard Selection Menu. From the dropdown list that appears, select the "+ Add Dashboard" button. If this button is not visible, confirm that you are currently in the dashboard view mode.

Step 3: Name Your Dashboard

In the Dashboard Name field, enter a descriptive name for your new dashboard.

Step 4: Configure Dashboard Permissions

Use the Private Dashboard toggle to manage who can see this dashboard. Turn the toggle ON to make the dashboard private, visible only to you. Turn it OFF to allow team access. If the dashboard is not private, you can then set access levels for Agency User, Account Admin, and Account User roles. If you do not see this toggle, ensure you are still on the "New Dashboard" page.

Step 5: Create the Dashboard

Click the "Confirm" button to create your dashboard. You will then be taken to your new, blank dashboard.

Step 6: Add Widgets to Your Dashboard

After creation, you will land on the Quick Start Widgets page, which appears by default for any dashboard without widgets. From here, you have three options for adding widgets:

  • Option A: Use Suggested Widgets
Select from the "What is your goal?" or "Top used widgets" quick start options to add one or more popular pre-configured widgets. Click "Confirm & Add" to insert them and then proceed to Step 9.
  • Option B: Add a Widget Manually
Click "+ Add a widget manually" to open the Add New Widget panel, then proceed to Step 7.
  • Option C: Add a Widget in Edit Mode
Click the Edit button (pencil icon) to enter edit mode, then click the "+ Add Widget" button. If you do not see this button, confirm you are in edit mode. Then proceed to Step 7.

Step 7: Configure the New Widget

Use the settings in the Add New Widget panel to define the metrics and appearance of your widget. For a detailed guide on widget configuration, please refer to the dedicated article on adding or editing widgets.

Step 8: Save the Widget

Once you have configured the widget, click the "Save" button within the widget panel.

Step 9: Save All Dashboard Changes

Finally, click the "✓ Save Changes" button to save your new layout and exit edit mode.
