How to Redirect Users to a Specific Page After Signing a Contract

Overview

You can configure your CRM to redirect customers to a specific web page after they sign a document or complete a payment on an invoice generated from a document. This feature helps create a smooth, branded experience, such as displaying a thank-you page, directing them to a scheduling link, or presenting upsell opportunities.

Enable Global Custom URL Redirection

To set up a default redirect URL for all documents:

  1. Navigate to PaymentsDocuments & Contracts in the left menu.
  2. Click the Settings button (gear icon) at the top-right.
  3. Select Document Settings from the sidebar.
  4. Toggle on the Redirect to a Custom URL option.
  5. Enter the URL you want to redirect to (e.g., https://example.com).
  6. Choose whether to open the URL in the existing tab or a new tab.
  7. Click Save to apply the changes.

Note: Global settings do not override custom URLs set on individual documents or templates.

Set Up a Custom URL Per Document

To configure a redirect URL for a specific document:

  1. From Documents & Contracts, open an existing document or create a new one.
  2. Click SettingsDocument Settings at the top.
  3. Toggle on Enable redirection to custom URL.
  4. Enter the desired URL and choose the tab behavior.
  5. Save the document to apply the settings.

Redirection After Payment

If your document includes a payment option, the same redirect settings apply after payment is completed:

  • Global Setting: If enabled, customers are redirected automatically after payment processing.
  • Document-Level Setting: If a custom URL is specified for the document, it takes precedence over the global setting.

Troubleshooting & Tips

  • Test Before Sending: Use the preview option in Documents to verify the redirect works as intended.
  • Override Logic: Document-specific redirects override global ones. Remove the document-level setting to rely solely on the global redirect.

Common Use Cases

  • Thank-You Pages: Direct signers or payers to a personalized confirmation page.
  • Onboarding: Guide customers through onboarding steps immediately after signing.
  • Upsells: Present complementary offers or scheduling pages to increase engagement.
  • Reviews: Prompt users for feedback after they complete an agreement.
