Modify Plan Category and Level in SaaS Configurator
Overview
The SaaS Configurator in your CRM allows you to reorganize your subscription plans without affecting active customer subscriptions. You can move plans between categories or adjust their position within a category to refine upgrade and downgrade paths.
Benefits of Modifying Plan Categories and Levels
Adjusting your SaaS plan structure offers several advantages:
- Preserve active subscriptions: Existing customers remain on their current plans without disruption.
- Flexible pricing strategy: Quickly test new tier structures or seasonal offers.
- Seamless customer experience: Updated upgrade and downgrade paths appear automatically for customers.
- Multi-brand readiness: Prepare for future features that may involve moving clients between brands.
Moving Plans Between Categories
You can reassign a plan to a different category provided both categories use the same currency. This helps you logically group offers or create seasonal bundles. Current subscribers remain unchanged—only future upgrade and downgrade options are affected.
Changing Plan Level Within a Category
Reposition a plan within its category to change its order in the upgrade path. Higher-level plans inherit features from lower tiers, so adjusting a plan’s level affects feature inheritance for future subscriptions. Existing subscribers retain their current entitlements.
How to Modify Plan Category or Level
Access the SaaS Configurator
Navigate to Agency View and select SaaS Configurator. Locate the plan you wish to edit and click the Edit button.
Change Plan Category
Open the Category dropdown menu and select a category that uses the same currency as the plan. If no suitable categories are available, create one in that currency first. Click Save to confirm.
Adjust Plan Level
In the Plan Level field, choose a new position number or drag the plan to the desired spot in the list. Review the summary of feature inheritance changes, then publish your updates. The new upgrade and downgrade paths take effect immediately for all plans in the modified categories.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will existing customers lose or gain features after moving a plan?
No. Current subscribers keep their existing subscription terms. Only future upgrades and downgrades will follow the new hierarchy.
Can I move a plan to a category with a different currency?
No. The destination category must use the same currency as the plan.
How often can I reorder plans?
You can adjust plan levels as often as needed to align with your pricing strategy.
Does moving a plan affect active Stripe subscriptions?
No. Stripe product IDs remain unchanged, so billing continues without interruption. Only the plan’s position within the CRM is updated.
What happens to add-ons or rebilling products attached to a moved plan?
Add-ons stay connected to the plan. If the plan is moved to a higher level, it will inherit add-ons from plans below it in the new order.
