Understanding and Using Local Marketing Audits
About Local Marketing Audits
The Local Marketing Audit is a strategic reporting tool within your CRM. It provides a detailed analysis of your business's online presence and visibility. The report assesses key performance areas such as your Google Business Profile, website, local search rankings, online listings, and reviews. This consolidated view helps you identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for growth.
Access and Permissions
This feature is available by default for users within a sub-account. To control who can view and manage these audits, you can adjust staff permissions.
- Navigate to Settings and select My Staff.
- Choose a user and click Edit.
- Go to the Roles & Permissions tab.
- Find and toggle the permission for View & Manage Local Marketing Audit, then save your changes.
Generating an Audit Report
Step 1: Start a New Report
Go to the Reporting section from the main navigation. Click on the Local Marketing Audit tab and select the Generate New Report button.
Step 2: Verify Business Information
The report generator will pre-fill fields with your business's name, address, phone number, and website from your location settings. Review this information and make any necessary corrections.
Step 3: Connect Your Google Business Profile
If you have a connected Google Business Profile, you can select it from a dropdown menu. If not, you can enable an option to search Google Maps directly using your business details or a Maps URL.
Step 4: Generate the Report
Once all information is verified, click Generate Report. The system will compile your audit.
Refreshing an Audit
You can update an existing audit at any time to reflect recent changes to your website, listings, or profiles. There is no waiting period. To refresh an audit, go to the Local Marketing Audit page and click the Refresh Report button at the top.
Report Structure and Insights
The audit report is divided into two main areas for analysis.

To run a competitor analysis:
- After generating your main audit, go to the Compare Reports tab.
- Click + Compare.
- Search for and select up to three competitor businesses.
- Click Compare Reports to generate AI-powered, side-by-side insights.
