Using Organized Asset Selection for Snapshots

Understanding Organized Asset Selection

The organized asset selector provides a structured, hierarchical view of your assets when creating, refreshing, or loading Snapshots in your CRM. Instead of seeing all items in a single, flat list, you see them organized within their original folders and sub-folders from the source location. This layout helps you understand asset relationships at a glance and makes selecting complete sets of related items more straightforward.

Benefits of the Organized View

Using a folder-based selector offers several key advantages when managing your Snapshot assets.

  • Clarity and Context: You can see which folder an asset belongs to, helping you avoid selecting incomplete or incorrect items.
  • Efficient Selection: You can select an entire parent folder with one click, which automatically selects all assets and sub-folders contained within it.
  • Improved Accuracy: The visual structure reduces the chance of missing critical, related assets when performing a Snapshot action.
  • Deep Navigation: You can expand folders layer by layer to review assets nested several levels deep.

Where to Find the Organized Selector

The organized asset selector is used in the three primary Snapshot workflows within the CRM.

  • Create Snapshot: When building a new Snapshot from a source sub-account.
  • Refresh Snapshot: When updating an existing Snapshot with the latest versions of assets from the source.
  • Load Snapshot: When choosing which assets from a Snapshot to import into a target sub-account.

How the Folder Hierarchy Works

The selector mirrors the exact folder structure from your source. You will see parent folders, which you can expand to reveal sub-folders and the individual assets inside them. Each folder has a control to expand or collapse its contents. Selecting a parent folder checkbox will select all items within that folder, including assets in any nested sub-folders. If you only need specific items, you can expand the folder and select individual assets.

Using Search Within the Hierarchy

A search bar is available at the top of the asset selector. You can use it to quickly find an asset or folder by name, which is especially helpful in accounts with many items. After searching, the results will appear within their folder context, allowing you to verify the correct item and its location before selection.

Using the Selector to Create a Snapshot

When creating a new Snapshot, the organized selector helps you accurately choose the assets you want to copy.

  1. Navigate to the Snapshot creation workflow in your CRM.
  2. Select the source sub-account.
  3. Open the asset selector. You will see a list of top-level folders.
  4. Expand any folders to review the assets and sub-folders inside.
  5. Select entire folders or individual assets to include them in your new Snapshot.
