How to Remove a Domain Assigned to Active Campaigns
Removing a Domain Used in Scheduled Campaigns
If you try to delete a domain from your CRM and receive an error stating it's assigned to an active campaign, you must first unlink it from all campaigns. This process ensures your scheduled email sends continue without interruption and allows for safe domain removal.
Before You Begin
You cannot delete a domain while it is actively configured as the sending domain for any campaign, except for test campaigns. The system will prevent deletion and display an error message. Follow the steps below to disassociate the domain first.
Step 1: Attempt Domain Deletion
Navigate to your domain management area and click the Delete Domain option for the domain you wish to remove. If the domain is linked to a campaign, an alert will appear. Note the error message, which will indicate the domain is currently assigned to a scheduled campaign.
Step 2: Access the Domain Configurator
From your CRM's menu, locate and open the Domain Configurator. Find and select the specific domain that triggered the deletion error.
Step 3: Open Manage Campaign
For the selected domain, click the Manage Campaign button. This will display a list of all email campaigns currently configured to use this domain for sending.
Step 4: Unlink the Domain from Campaigns
In the campaign list, select all campaigns shown. Then, use the available Remove option to disassociate your domain from every campaign in the list.
Important: You must remove the domain from every campaign listed. If any campaign remains linked, the deletion will still be blocked in a later step.
Step 5: Apply the Changes
Click the Apply button to save your changes. This action confirms the removal and updates the configuration for all selected campaigns.
Step 6: Verify All Links Are Removed
Return to the Manage Campaign view for the domain. The list of linked campaigns should now be empty, confirming the domain is no longer assigned to any campaign.
Step 7: Delete the Domain
Go back to your main domain list. You should now see the Delete Domain option available for your domain. Enter any required confirmation text (like "delete") and click Delete to permanently remove the domain from your CRM.
Completion
The domain has been successfully removed. By unlinking it first, you have ensured no scheduled email campaigns were disrupted, and your sending infrastructure remains intact.
