Using Countdown Timer Placeholders When Sharing Email Templates
About Countdown Timer Placeholders
When you embed a countdown timer into an email template and then share or copy that template to a different subaccount (location) within your agency, the original countdown timer element will be replaced by a static placeholder. This placeholder ensures the template structure is maintained, but the timer itself will not be active until you configure it for the new location.
Note: This placeholder functionality is currently available for email templates. Support for other template types, such as funnels, is planned for a future update.
Process for Sharing a Template with a Countdown Timer
Step 1: Embed the Countdown Timer in the Original Template
Go to Marketing > Emails > Templates. Edit an existing template or create a new one. Within the template editor, add a countdown timer element. If you do not have a countdown timer created in the current subaccount, you will need to create one first.
Step 2: Share the Template
After saving your template, exit the editor. From the main templates list, find the template you just edited and click the three-dot action menu next to it. From the menu that appears, select Share.
Step 3: Copy the Shareable Link
A modal window titled "Share Template" will open. Configure the desired permissions for the template and then click the Copy Link button.
Step 4: Access the Shared Template Link
Open the copied link in a new browser tab. If you are logged into your agency account, the page will load and display an Add Template button.
Step 5: Select the Destination Subaccount
Click the Add Template button. A "Clone Email Template" modal will appear. Here, you can select the specific subaccount (location) under your agency where you want to create a copy of the template. You also have the option to rename the template copy at this stage.
Step 6: Replace the Placeholder in the New Template
Navigate to Marketing > Emails > Templates within the destination subaccount. Open the newly copied template for editing. You will see that the original countdown timer is now displayed as a non-functional placeholder. Click on this placeholder to select an active countdown timer from the current subaccount. If no countdown timers exist in this subaccount, you will need to create one before you can complete this step.
