Add Messaging and Social Channels to Your Google Business Profile
About Messaging and Social Channels on Google Business Profile
You can enhance your Google Business Profile by connecting messaging and social media channels directly. This integration allows customers to contact you through familiar platforms like WhatsApp, SMS, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X, and Pinterest. By offering multiple communication options, you can build trust, increase engagement, and capture more leads.
Key Benefits
Adding these channels to your Google Business Profile provides several advantages:
- Higher Trust: Displaying channels your customers already use makes your business appear more responsive and reliable.
- Increased Engagement: More ways to connect mean more conversations and quality leads.
- Unified Communications: Manage all messaging in one place when using CRM-connected channels.
Linking WhatsApp and SMS
You can connect WhatsApp and SMS channels to your Google Business Profile. Choose an existing CRM-integrated phone number for WhatsApp or SMS, or enter a different number in E.164 format (e.g., +15551234567). Note that only one messaging channel will display publicly on your Google Business Profile. If both WhatsApp and SMS are added, Google shows the SMS number by default; WhatsApp appears only if no SMS number is provided.
Important: To sync messages and set up automations, the phone number must be connected to your CRM. Non-CRM numbers can be displayed on your Google Business Profile but won’t sync or trigger automations.
Social Channels Integration
Linking social media profiles strengthens your brand presence and gives customers familiar ways to engage. If a social account is also connected to your CRM, direct messages from that platform can be managed within the CRM. Supported platforms include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X, and Pinterest. All connected social channels will appear in the About section of your Google Business Profile.

Use these URL formats when adding social media links to your Google Business Profile:

Troubleshooting: Messaging Options Not Visible
If your WhatsApp or SMS channel isn’t appearing on your Google Business Profile, it may be due to Google’s validation process. To resolve this:
- Access your Google Business Profile setup by clicking Update GBP in the CRM’s page selection module or via Google Console.
- Check if your edit was approved by Google. Approval is handled solely by Google and cannot be influenced by the CRM.
- If the edit isn’t approved, contact Google support directly.
