Waiving Premium Action/Trigger Charges for Selected Marketplace Apps
This program update announces the conclusion of the enrollment phase for an experimental pricing initiative. New developer or app participation requests are no longer being accepted. Approved participants will continue under their current arrangements while results are evaluated to determine future steps. We thank the developer community for their strong interest and feedback.
About Usage-Based Pricing
The CRM platform now supports usage-based pricing for developers, allowing them to set per-execution charges for their custom actions and triggers. To encourage growth and adoption of third-party apps in the Marketplace, an experiment is being conducted where the standard CRM premium action/trigger charge of $0.01 per execution is waived for a select group of developers and their apps. During this period, you will only be charged the developer's set price per execution.
Why This Experiment is Running
We recognize that the value of an action or trigger depends on the service or feature it enables. Some services, like email or phone validation, cost less than $0.01 per execution, but the added platform fee can make the overall cost prohibitive. By waiving the CRM fee, we aim to lower your total cost and increase transparency with developer-set pricing, enabling you to integrate more Marketplace features into your workflows affordably.
What This Means for You
Developer-Set Usage-Based Pricing: If a selected developer has enabled usage-based pricing, you will see a per-execution charge from them for their app's custom actions or triggers.
Variation in Pricing: You may notice that some apps still include a CRM per-execution fee, while others do not. For apps in the experiment that use the CRM billing platform, only the developer's usage-based price applies. For apps not in the experiment, you will see two charges: the developer's price and the CRM platform fee.
How Developers and Apps Were Selected
CRM identified participants based on:
- Apps Growth Potential: The developer's ability to create and publish multiple apps in the Marketplace that use custom actions/triggers, increasing the variety of available services and integrations.
- Usage Growth Potential: The app's potential to grow in monthly executions, providing clear value to end users.
What to Expect During the Experiment
No Additional Premium Fees on Selected Apps: The usual CRM charge of $0.01 per execution is waived for chosen apps. You will only pay the developer's usage-based fee.
Increased Variety of Integrations: We anticipate more developers listing their apps, offering a wider range of features and services in the Marketplace.
