Migrate Courses from Kajabi to CRM

The CRM platform includes a tool to help you transfer your courses from Kajabi into its built-in Courses feature. This guide walks you through the process to ensure your content moves smoothly.

Accessing the Kajabi Importer

To begin, navigate to Memberships > Courses > Products > Create Product > Import.

Best Practices for Migration

For a successful import, avoid using custom CSS in your Kajabi course. Create backups of your themes beforehand so you can restore original settings if needed. Start the migration during off-peak hours to prevent disruptions for your learners.

Recent updates have improved the reliability of importing large Kajabi courses. The tool now captures content behind Show More buttons and recursively extracts lessons hidden in categories and subcategories. This means nested or concealed lessons are more likely to be imported completely.

Note: Only published lessons are imported. Assignments, quizzes, and assessments are not included.

Steps to Import a Course

Step 1: Create a Learner Profile

First, create a new learner profile in Kajabi using a valid email and password. Return to the CRM Course Importer screen and enter the same email, password, and the domain where learners log in to Kajabi. Click Import to proceed.

Step 2: Importing Process

The importer will log into Kajabi using the credentials provided and begin importing courses. Progress is displayed, but you may need to click Refresh for updated status. To stop the process, click Cancel. You can switch browser tabs, but do not close the window. All videos, images, and text content from published lessons will be migrated.

Preferred themes: Use Encore Site for the Library and Premier Product for the Product sections for best results.

Step 3: Successful Import

Once finished, imported courses appear under Products. The Import section shows the last update time.

What causes a "course import failed" error?

This can happen due to an incorrect theme, wrong credentials, or an invalid domain (ensure it includes a /login path). Click Retry to resume from where it stopped. If you cancel, the import must restart from the beginning.

Why do newer imports show more lessons?

Improved detection now captures expanded content like hidden lessons and nested structures. If an earlier import missed lessons, retrying may import more published content.
