Selling SaaS Subscriptions in Non-USD Currencies
Yes, you can sell your SaaS products in currencies other than USD. While the platform's native SaaS tools primarily operate in USD, you can use a workaround involving your Stripe integration to charge customers in their local currency. This process is scalable and has been used successfully by many agencies to expand internationally.
Initial Setup in Stripe
First, create your SaaS products and their pricing plans as you normally would within the CRM's SaaS Configurator. These will be created in USD. Next, log into your connected Stripe account. There, you will find the products you just created. For each product and its associated price, you can edit the details directly in Stripe to change the currency from USD to your desired currency (e.g., EUR, GBP, AUD). Save these changes for all your products and pricing tiers.
Understanding the Currency Display
Your CRM's SaaS Configurator will continue to show prices in USD. This is not a problem. The currency setting within your Stripe account overrides the CRM's display for actual transactions. The prices and currency you set in Stripe are what your customers will see and be charged.
Starting to Sell
You can begin selling immediately by generating payment links for your SaaS products from within the CRM. When a customer uses this link, the checkout page will display the price in the currency you configured in Stripe. Upon successful payment, Stripe will create a customer profile, subscription, and an invoice in that local currency.
Selling Through Funnels
To sell these products through your CRM funnels instead of direct payment links, you need to import the products into the specific sub-account (location) you will use for sales. A crucial prerequisite is that the Stripe account connected to this sub-account must be the same as the one connected to your main agency account.
To verify your Stripe connections:
- For your agency: Navigate to Agency Settings and then to the Stripe section.
- For a sub-account: Go to the location, then to the Payments section and select Integrations.
Once you've confirmed both connections point to the same Stripe account, you can import the products.
Importing Products to a Sub-Account
Within the sub-account you want to use for sales, go to the Payments section and select Products. Click the "Import from Stripe" button. You can then search for and select the SaaS products you modified with the new currency. Import all relevant products and their prices. After import, you will see the prices listed in your chosen currency. You can now add these products to one-step or two-step order forms within your funnels and start selling.
Wallet Recharges (Credits)
This method also applies to wallet recharges (credit purchases). When a customer adds credits, they will be charged in your configured local currency, and their invoice/receipt from Stripe will reflect this.
Please note: While the charge is in the local currency, the credit usage records inside the CRM will still display amounts in USD. For example, if a customer purchases $100 USD worth of credits, the CRM's billing usage logs will show "$100." Behind the scenes, the CRM converts this USD amount to your local currency at the time of the Stripe charge, so the customer is billed correctly in their currency.
