A2P 10DLC Campaign Vetting FAQ

What is changing with A2P 10DLC campaign registration?

Starting January 26, 2023, all new A2P 10DLC campaign registrations in the US, including Standard, Low Volume Standard, and Sole Proprietor 2.0, will require a manual vetting process. A one-time verification fee of $15.75 will be charged at the time of registration.

Why is this change happening? Is this a requirement from the CRM?

This change is being implemented across the industry to help maintain SMS as a reliable and trusted communication channel. The goal is to reduce spam, fraudulent messages, and unwanted texts. This is not a requirement specific to the CRM; all Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging providers in the US are required to participate.

Note: The CRM collects the $15.75 verification fee and passes it directly to our telecommunications partners without any markup. This fee is not a charge levied by the CRM itself.

How do the new fees compare to the existing registration fees?

The table below outlines the existing fees alongside the new one-time campaign verification fee.

Sole Proprietor (upcoming) Low Volume Standard Standard
Existing Fees
Brand registration fee (one-time) $4.20 $4.20 $4.20
Monthly campaign fee (recurring) $2.10 $1.50–$12.00 (varies by use case) $1.50–$12.00 (varies by use case)
New Fee
Campaign verification fee (one-time) $15.75 $15.75 $15.75

How will this affect the campaign vetting process?

Once you submit a new campaign for registration, it will enter a "Pending" status. During this time, the campaign undergoes manual review. You will only be able to send A2P messages using that campaign after it has been fully approved.

What criteria are used to approve or reject a campaign?

To increase the likelihood of your campaign being approved, please follow the recommended guidelines for A2P campaign content and setup. Ensuring your campaign description and use case are accurate and compliant is crucial.

Is the $15.75 fee refundable if my campaign is rejected?

No, the $15.75 campaign verification fee is non-refundable, even if the campaign fails the vetting process. Our team is working on implementing a pre-screening step to help identify potential issues before the official submission, which may help avoid rejections. We will provide updates on this feature as they become available.

Are existing campaigns affected by this change?

Currently, only new campaign registrations are subject to this manual vetting and fee. If there are any future changes that impact existing campaigns, we will notify all affected users in advance.

Are the monthly recurring fees changing?

No, the monthly recurring campaign fees remain unchanged and are still determined by your selected use case type.

Does this new process apply to post-approval campaigns like Agents/Franchise or Proxy campaigns?

Yes, the manual vetting and $15.75 fee also apply to post-approval campaigns. This process occurs after the campaign receives initial carrier approval.

What should I do if my campaign is rejected?

If your campaign is rejected during vetting, please contact our support team. A specialist can assist you in correcting any issues with your registration. Note that submitting a new campaign will require paying the verification fee again.

Are there any exceptions to these changes?

Toll-Free messaging remains an alternative to A2P 10DLC. While Toll-Free numbers also require a verification process, they do not involve separate brand and campaign registration fees.
