Using Default and Category Completion Certificates in Courses

About Course Certificates

The CRM platform now includes automatic certificate features for courses. This simplifies rewarding your learners by providing a default certificate for every new course and allowing you to create certificates for completing specific course sections (categories).

Default Course Completion Certificates

Every new course you create will automatically have a course completion certificate set up by default. This certificate is awarded to a learner when they finish all required lessons in the entire course.

Managing the Default Certificate

You can customize, remove, or temporarily disable this default certificate.

  • To edit or attach a template: In the course builder, find the Course Completion Certificate section. Click the settings icon (three dots) and select Edit Certificate or Choose Certificate. You can then select or design a certificate template for this course.
  • To delete the default certificate: Click the settings icon (three dots) in the certificate section and choose Delete.
  • To save it as a draft (disable it): Click the Published status icon next to the certificate and select Draft. The certificate will not be awarded until you publish it again.

Category Completion Certificates

You can also award certificates for completing a specific category (section) within a course. This is useful for recognizing milestone achievements.

Setting Up a Category Certificate

  1. Go to your course in the course builder.
  2. Select the category you want to attach a certificate to.
  3. Click the plus icon to add a new item to the category and choose to attach a certificate.

How Category Certificates Work

  • The certificate appears as the final, non-movable item in the category preview for learners.
  • It is automatically awarded once a learner has completed 100% of the required lessons within that specific category.
  • You cannot reorder or move the certificate within the category; it will always remain at the end.

Note: Both course and category completion certificates are only triggered when the learner has fully completed all required content (100% completion) for that course or section.
