Analyzing Top Geographic Locations in Funnel Analytics

Understanding Geographic Traffic Analytics

Gain a clear picture of where your website or funnel visitors are located with the Geographic Analytics feature. This tool provides a visual breakdown of your traffic data, from the broad country level down to specific states and cities. By understanding the geographic distribution of your audience, you can make smarter decisions about marketing campaigns, content localization, and audience targeting.

Key Features and Benefits

The Geographic Analytics dashboard offers several powerful ways to analyze your traffic.

  • Interactive Heat Map: A color-coded map where darker shades indicate higher concentrations of visitors.
  • Drill-Down Capability: Seamlessly switch your view between country, state, and city levels.
  • Ranked Lists: See a side-by-side list of your top-performing geographic regions, automatically sorted by visit count.
  • Real-Time Updates: The map and lists update instantly as you change the geographic level or date range.

This data helps you identify your most valuable markets, detect unusual traffic patterns, and assess opportunities for geographic expansion.

How to Access Geographic Analytics

Follow these steps to view your top visits by location.

  1. From your CRM dashboard, navigate to Sites using the main menu.
  2. Click on the Analytics tab at the top of the page.
  3. Use the dropdown menu at the top-left of the dashboard to select whether you want to view data for Funnels, Websites, or another asset type. A second dropdown allows you to filter results to a specific site.
  4. In the upper-right corner, use the date filter to select your desired time period (e.g., Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or a custom range).
  5. Scroll down the analytics page until you find the card labeled Top visits by.

Using the Geographic Dashboard

Once you have accessed the Top visits by card, you can begin your analysis.

  • Use the dropdown menu directly above the map to select the drill-down level: Country, State, or City.
  • The heat map will immediately update to reflect your selection. Hover your cursor over any shaded region to see the exact number of visitors from that area.
  • The ranked list on the right side of the card will simultaneously update, showing you the top ten locations for the selected level.
  • The total number of visitors for the current geographic level is displayed above the map.
