Building Forms and Surveys in the Website and Funnel Builder
Streamline your workflow by creating and managing forms and surveys directly within the CRM's Website and Funnel Builders. This integrated approach lets you design and place data collection tools without interrupting your creative process, using a full-featured editor that appears right on your canvas.
What Are Forms and Surveys in the Builder?
This feature provides a seamless way to build, customize, and add forms or surveys to your web pages and funnels. Instead of switching to a separate application, you can work within a large editing window that overlays your design canvas. You can create new forms from scratch, select from pre-designed templates, or use the Form Picker to insert forms you've already built elsewhere in your account.
Key Advantages
Using the in-builder tools for forms and surveys offers several significant benefits for efficiency and consistency.
- Maintain Your Workflow: The large, in-context editor allows you to stay focused on your page design without navigating away to a different part of the CRM.
- Reuse and Maintain Consistency: The Form Picker lets you quickly add any existing form or survey to a new page, ensuring your branding and field logic remain uniform across your entire site or funnel.
- Start Quickly with Templates: Jump-start your creation process with a selection of curated templates for common use cases like contact forms, registrations, orders, and donations.
- Centralized Management: Every form or survey you create or add is automatically cataloged in a unified list, making it simple to find, edit, and duplicate your assets for future projects.
- Accept Payments: Order-style form templates can be configured with a payment element, enabling you to sell products or collect donations directly through the form.
Getting Started
Follow these steps to add a form or survey to your page or funnel.
- Open either the Website Builder or Funnel Builder and navigate to the specific page or funnel step you want to edit.
- Access the form and survey tools from the left sidebar of the builder interface.
- Choose to create a new form, use a template, or select an existing form via the Form Picker.
- Once the form element is on your canvas, you can click to open the editor and customize its fields, design, and settings.
Working with Templates and Themes
It's helpful to understand the distinction between templates and themes. Templates provide a pre-built structure with specific fields for a purpose, such as an order form or a contact form. Themes, on the other hand, are visual presets that control the appearance, like colors and fonts. You can apply a new theme to quickly change the look of a form, but note that this will override any custom styling you have applied.
Design and Behavior Controls
The form editor's right sidebar is your control center for customization. From here, you can manage the form's structure and appearance.
- Fields: Add new fields, remove existing ones, or change their order. You can also map form fields to custom fields in your CRM.
- Styles: Adjust the visual design, including fonts, spacing, borders, backgrounds, and button styles.
- Advanced Settings: Configure what happens after a form is submitted, such as showing a confirmation message or redirecting to another page. You can also set up tracking and, for surveys, conditional logic.
Managing Your Forms
All forms and surveys are centrally managed. You can view and search through all your assets in a unified list, which is accessible from the main Sites section of the CRM under Forms and Surveys. This makes it easy to maintain consistency and reuse your work effectively.
