About Payment Authorization

Payment authorization is a feature that allows you to verify a client's payment method before they commit to a subscription or payment plan. This is not enabled by default and requires a specific setup.

When a client proceeds with a purchase, the system will temporarily hold the authorization amount you specify from their bank account. This verifies that the account is valid and has sufficient funds. If the funds are not available, the client cannot complete the purchase. Once authorized, the held amount is credited back to the client's account. Please note that this refund process can take up to five business days.

This feature works exclusively with subscription and payment plan products. If a plan includes a trial period, the trial will begin as soon as the card is successfully authorized.

Setting Up Authorization for a Product

Follow these steps to enable payment authorization for a product on your website.

Step 1: Access the Order Form

Navigate to the page in your website builder that contains the order form. Click on the three dots associated with the form.

Step 2: Open Product Settings

From the menu that appears, select Products. If no products are attached to the page, you will need to add them before you can proceed. Click the Edit icon for the specific plan you wish to configure.

Step 3: Configure Authorization

Within the product settings, scroll to the bottom and locate the Additional Options section. Click on Custom Authorization. In the field provided, enter the amount you want to authorize.

The amount must be a positive number, equal to or greater than 1.
Use up to two decimal places.
This is the exact sum that will be temporarily held from the client's account.

Remember, if you have multiple plans on the same form, you must repeat this process for each individual plan you want to enable authorization for.
