How to Manually Add Schema Markup in Websites and Funnels

About the Schema Markup Generator

The Schema Markup Generator is a built-in tool in your CRM's Website and Funnel Builder that enables you to create, validate, and publish schema markup (also known as structured data) in JSON-LD format for individual pages. Structured data helps search engines and AI systems better understand and display key information about your business, products, services, events, articles, and more.

Benefits of Using the Schema Markup Generator

  • Wide Range of Schema Types: Choose from over 140 schema types, including LocalBusiness, Product, Article, FAQPage, Event, and Organization.
  • Form View (No-Code): Use guided form fields to input schema details without needing technical expertise.
  • JSON View (Advanced): Paste or write custom JSON-LD code directly for full control over your schema.
  • Built-in Validation: The tool highlights errors before publishing, ensuring your schema is correctly formatted.
  • Quick Publishing: Save your schema with one click and publish it live when you update the page.
  • Multiple Schemas Per Page: Add and manage several schema types on a single page, such as combining LocalBusiness and FAQPage.

How to Add Schema Markup to a Page

Schema markup is specific to each page or funnel step, so you'll need to repeat these steps for every page where you want structured data.

  1. Navigate to Sites in your CRM.
  2. Click on Funnels or Websites, depending on where you want to add schema.
  3. Create a new funnel or website, or edit an existing one.
  4. Click Edit on the specific page or funnel step you wish to update.
  5. In the left panel, open SEO & AI search optimization.
  6. Click on Schema Markup.
  7. Click the + New Schema button and select Add Schema.
  8. Choose a schema type from the dropdown menu (e.g., LocalBusiness, FAQPage, Product).
  9. Enter your schema details using either:
    • Form View: Fill out the guided fields.
    • JSON View: Paste or write your JSON-LD code.
  10. Click Validate & Save. If there are errors, correct the highlighted issues.
  11. Save and publish the page or funnel step to make the schema live.

Form View vs. JSON View

Select the view that best fits your needs:

  • Form View: Ideal for users without coding experience. It provides guided fields to help you enter required and recommended properties without formatting errors.
  • JSON View: Best for advanced users or developers. It allows direct editing or pasting of JSON-LD code, useful for adding specialized properties not available in the form.

Supported Schema Types

The tool supports numerous schema types to match your page content and goals. Common options include:

  • Organization
  • Website
  • BreadcrumbList
  • Article / BlogPosting
  • FAQPage
  • QAPage
  • HowTo
  • VideoObject
  • Person
  • Product
  • LocalBusiness
  • Event
  • Offer
  • Review
  • AggregateRating
  • Recipe
  • ImageObject
  • Service
  • Course

Note that each category may include more specific subtypes (e.g., LocalBusiness has subtypes like Dentist or Restaurant).

Best Practices

  • Be Accurate: Only mark up content that is visible on the page. Avoid fake reviews or hidden information.
  • Keep It Updated: Regularly update schema when business details like hours, prices, or contact information change.
  • Use Specific Types: Choose the most specific schema type available (e.g., "Dentist" instead of "LocalBusiness") for better results.
  • Combine Schemas: Use multiple schema types on a page, such as Organization and LocalBusiness on a homepage, for comprehensive coverage.
  • Mark Up Key Pages: Apply schema to important pages like your homepage, contact page, product pages, service pages, and blog posts.

Useful Schema Types for Local Businesses

  • LocalBusiness: Essential for businesses with a physical location. Includes name, address, phone, hours, and service area.
  • Product: For products you sell. Displays prices, availability, ratings, and images in search results.
  • Service: For services offered. Shows descriptions, pricing, and service areas.
  • Review: Showcases real customer testimonials as star ratings in search results.
  • FAQ: Questions and answers that can expand directly in Google search, increasing visibility.
  • Event: For workshops, sales, classes, or other scheduled events. Displays dates and registration links.

Important Notes

Schema markup is specific to each page and does not automatically apply to other pages or funnel steps. After saving, schema may appear in the editor or preview, but it only goes live once the page is published.
