How to Remove Schema Markups from Your Pages

Overview

Schema markup, or structured data, helps search engines understand your page content. Over time, you may need to remove these markups if they become outdated, incorrect, or irrelevant to your SEO goals. Your CRM provides several straightforward methods to delete schema markup from any page in the Website or Funnel Builder.

Methods for Deleting Schema Markup

Using the Form View

The Form View offers a visual way to manage and delete specific schema types.

  1. Navigate to Sites and open your Website or Funnel Builder.
  2. Click Edit Page for the relevant page.
  3. Go to the SEO & AI search optimization section and select Schema Markup.
  4. Open the schema editor, ensuring you are in Form View.
  5. In the left panel, find the list of existing schemas.
  6. Click the three-dot menu icon next to the schema you wish to remove.
  7. Select Delete from the menu.
  8. Confirm the action in the pop-up dialog by clicking Yes, Delete.

To delete all schemas from the page at once:

  2. Click Validate & Save.
  3. A confirmation prompt will appear. Select Yes, Delete to proceed.

Using the JSON View

For advanced control, you can edit the raw structured data code directly.

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above to reach the Schema Markup editor.
  2. Switch the editor to JSON View.
  3. Select and delete all the JSON-LD code within the editor.
  4. Click Validate & Save.
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Using AI Chat

You can use conversational AI to manage your schema markups quickly.

  1. Open the AI chat feature, such as Ask AI, Funnel AI, or the Schema Markup AI.
  2. Enter a clear prompt like:
    • "Remove all schema markup from this page."
    • "Delete the Organization schema."
  3. The AI will process your request and remove the specified schema.
  4. A confirmation message will appear once the action is complete.

Recovering Deleted Schema

If you need to restore a schema you've deleted, you can use the page's version history.

  1. Open the page in the Website or Funnel Builder.
  2. Access the Version History from the page editor toolbar.
  3. Browse the saved versions and restore a version that contains the schema markup you wish to recover.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I undo a schema deletion immediately?

There is no direct undo button. However, you can recover deleted schema by using the Version History feature to restore a previous page version.

Does deleting schema on one page affect other pages?

No. Schema markup deletion is specific to the individual page you are editing.

What if I only delete part of the JSON code?

Leaving incomplete JSON code may cause validation errors. For a complete deletion, ensure all schema-related code is removed from the JSON View editor.

Do I need to republish the page after deleting schema?

Yes. Any changes to schema markup, including deletions, will only go live on your published site after you republish the page.

Can the AI delete multiple schemas at once?

Yes. You can instruct the AI to delete a specific schema or to remove all schema markup from the page in a single action.

When will my schema changes be visible?

Changes will be visible in the page preview immediately after saving. However, for the changes to be active on your live site, you must publish the page.
