Connecting Google Drive to Your Knowledge Base
You can connect your Google Drive account to your CRM's Knowledge Base, allowing you to import documents directly. This feature eliminates the need to download files to your computer and then re-upload them, streamlining the process of adding existing documentation to your AI knowledge sources.

The integration supports the following file formats for import:
- PDF files (.pdf)
- Google Docs
- Microsoft Word documents (.doc and .docx)
How to Import Files from Google Drive
Follow these steps to bring documents from your Google Drive into a Knowledge Base.
Initial Setup and Import
- Go to AI Agents and select Knowledge Base.
- Either create a new Knowledge Base or open an existing one for editing.
- Inside the Knowledge Base editor, navigate to the Knowledge section.
- From the All tab or the dedicated File tab, select the option for File Upload.
- Choose Import from Google Drive.
- If you haven't connected an account before, you will be prompted to connect and authorize your Google account. Select the account and the directory you wish to use.
- Browse your Google Drive folders or use the search to locate the file you want to import.
- Select a supported file and click Import File.
- The file will be processed. Wait for its status to change to Processed before it is fully available for use.
Updating Imported Files (Re-syncing)
If you make changes to a document in Google Drive after importing it, you need to manually update it in your Knowledge Base. This process is called re-syncing.
- Open the relevant Knowledge Base.
- Go to the File Upload tab.
- Find the imported Google Drive file in the list.
- In the Actions column for that file, click the Re-sync icon.
- Wait for the processing to complete. Once finished, the Knowledge Base will be using the latest version of your document.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Google account to use this?
Yes. You must connect and authorize at least one Google account to browse and import files from Google Drive.
Are document changes synced automatically?
No. The integration does not automatically update files. You must manually use the re-sync function to pull the latest version from Google Drive into your Knowledge Base.
Where do imported Google Drive files appear?
Imported files are listed in the File Upload tab of your Knowledge Base. You can identify them by looking at the Source column, which will show Google Drive.
Can I mix Google Drive files with other content?
Yes. Files imported from Google Drive are managed alongside all other Knowledge Base sources, such as website links, FAQ entries, Rich Text content, and other uploaded documents.
