Key Improvements in the New Blog
Simplified URL Structure
The new system uses cleaner, more logical URLs. For a primary domain like yourdomain.com, the main blog page will be yourdomain.com/blog. Individual posts will use the format yourdomain.com/post/post-name. For a subdomain like blog.yourdomain.com, the main page is the subdomain itself, and posts follow the format blog.yourdomain.com/post/post-name.
Automated Sitemap Updates
Your blog's sitemap is now updated automatically whenever you publish a new post. You no longer need to manually update sitemap files or robot.txt entries.
Enhanced Post Display
Blog posts now open in a new page, providing a more focused reading experience. You have greater control over the layout and design, including the ability to add elements like subscription forms or custom comment sections.
Stronger SEO with Canonical Tags
The system automatically implements canonical tags, which help search engines understand which version of your content to index, improving your search rankings.
Customizable Layouts
You can now create blogs with custom layouts, allowing you to control exactly how your posts are displayed in card views and other formats.
What Happens to Old Blogs?
Blogs created in the old system within your Funnels or Websites will continue to function and allow you to create new posts. However, they will not benefit from the new URL simplification, automated sitemaps, or canonical tags. All posts from old blogs are grouped into a "Default Blog." For the best SEO and user experience, migrating to the new blog system is recommended.
How to Migrate Your Blog Posts
Follow these steps to move your content from the old blog to the new, revamped version.
- Navigate to Sites > Blogs in your CRM.
- You will see an option for Default Blog, which contains all posts from your old funnels and websites.
- Inside the Default Blog, you will find a list of your existing blog posts.
- Select the checkbox next to the post or posts you wish to migrate.
- Click the Move Blog button to transfer the selected posts.
Note: The original URL for the blog post will be replaced with a new URL based on the updated structure. - (Optional) If you have a blog list element on a funnel or website page, you should select the new blog in that element's settings and republish the page.
