Enhanced Email Verification for Campaigns
Email Verification for Campaign Sender Addresses
To protect your sender reputation and prevent unauthorized use of email addresses, the CRM now requires verification of the From address before sending email campaigns. This one-time process uses a simple OTP (One-Time Password) to confirm you own the address you wish to send from.
When Verification Is Not Required
In two specific cases, the OTP verification step is skipped:
- Custom Email Domains: If you are using a custom domain provided through the CRM's email service, ownership is automatically verified and no additional check is needed.
- Location Admin Email: If the From address matches the Location administrator email already stored in your settings, it is treated as pre-verified.
How to Verify Your Email Address
Follow these steps to verify an email address for use in campaigns:
- Go to Email Marketing and create a new campaign.
- In the sender email field, enter the address you want to verify.
- Click the Verify Now button that appears next to the field.
- Check the inbox of the email address you entered for a message containing a 6-digit code.
- Enter the code in the verification dialog to complete the process.
Once verified, the address can be used as the From email in any campaign and does not need to be verified again.
Pre-Verify from Settings
You can also verify email addresses before creating a campaign. Navigate to your settings, select Verify an email, and follow the same OTP process. This allows you to prepare sender addresses in advance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is email verification required?
Verification ensures that only authorized users can send from an email address, reducing the risk of spoofing and protecting your sender reputation.
How long is the OTP valid?
The code expires after a short period for security. If it expires, request a new one by clicking Verify Now again.
What if I don't receive the OTP?
Check your spam folder, confirm the email address is correct, and ensure your inbox isn't filtering messages from no-reply addresses. If needed, request a new code.
Do I need to reverify an address?
No. Once verified, an address remains approved for all future campaigns.
Can I verify multiple addresses?
Yes. Verify each address you plan to use, and they will all appear in the sender dropdown when creating campaigns.
Does this apply to workflow emails?
Verification is required for email campaigns. For workflow-triggered emails, the sender address is determined by the workflow configuration. To use a verified address in workflows, verify it separately.
What if my campaign won't send due to an unverified address?
Open the campaign, click Verify Now next to the From address, complete the OTP process, and resend. Alternatively, verify the address beforehand in settings.
