How to Create and Issue Achievement Badges

Recognizing Achievements with Digital Badges

Motivate and celebrate your learners or community members by issuing digital achievement badges. These customizable icons can be awarded for milestones like course completion, skill mastery, or any other accomplishment you define. By integrating these visual tokens of recognition into your communications, you can boost engagement and provide a professional, branded way to acknowledge progress.

Creating and Customizing a Badge

Accessing the Badge Builder

To begin creating a badge, navigate to your CRM dashboard. From the left-hand menu, select Memberships. Click on the Credentials tab. In the top-right corner of this section, click the + Create button. From the dropdown menu that appears, select Create Badge.

Starting Your Design

You will be presented with a choice: start with a completely blank canvas or select a pre-designed template from the provided library. Choose the option that best fits your needs and click Create to open the badge editor.

Designing Your Badge

The badge editor provides tools to customize every aspect of your design.

  • Adding and Editing Text: Click the Text tab in the left panel, then click + Add Text Box. You can choose from text style presets like Heading or Normal Text. Click on any text element on the canvas to edit its content directly. Use the styling options to change the font, size, weight, color, and alignment.
  • Using Dynamic Tags: You can insert dynamic tags into text boxes to automatically populate information, such as a contact's Full Name, Email, or Company. These values pull from the contact's profile in your CRM.
  • Adding Design Elements: Click the Elements tab to add shapes, lines, icons, ribbons, and other graphical bases to your badge. Select any element to customize its fill color, border (stroke), opacity, and corner radius.
  • Inserting Images: You can upload an image from your media library or paste an external image URL to import it into your design.
  • Layering and Positioning: Use the layer controls to bring elements forward or send them backward, managing how graphics and text overlap. You can move elements precisely using your keyboard's arrow keys.

Finalizing and Saving

Before saving, click the preview (eye) icon to see exactly how your badge will appear. Once satisfied, click Save to store the badge design in your CRM's directory.

Issuing a Badge via Email

With your badge saved, you can send it directly to recipients.

  1. In the badge editor, click the Send button.
  2. Enter an Instructor Name for context.
  3. Select your recipients. You can choose from previously saved contacts or add a new one.
  4. Choose to use the default email template or select a saved template by clicking the edit button next to the preview (eye) icon.
  5. You can preview the email and edit the subject line as needed.
  6. Click Confirm, then Send Email to deliver the badge.

How Recipients Use Badges

When a contact receives the badge email, they can download the badge as a high-resolution PNG file. They also have the option to share a certificate link or post their achievement directly to social media platforms. This not only celebrates their success but can also help increase visibility for your brand.

Automatic Saving

Your work in the badge editor is protected by an auto-save feature. The system automatically saves your progress at regular intervals, so you don't have to worry about losing your design due to a lost internet connection or other interruption.
