Scheduling a Campaign for the Day After an Event

This article explains how to schedule a marketing campaign to begin automatically the day after a contact attends an event or webinar.

About Next-Day Follow-Up Campaigns

A next-day campaign is an automated sequence of messages designed to engage with contacts who have attended an event. This is an effective way to follow up while the event is still fresh in their minds.

Creating a Next-Day Campaign

To set up a campaign that starts the day after an event:

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns section within your CRM.
  2. Create a new campaign or edit an existing one.
  3. In the campaign settings, locate the option to set a start delay.
  4. Configure the campaign to start 1 day after a contact is added to it.
  5. Build out the sequence of messages you want to send.
  6. Save and activate your campaign.

Triggering the Campaign

For the campaign to start, contacts must be added to it. This is typically done by using a trigger, such as a form submission confirming event attendance or a tag being applied. Once the trigger condition is met for a contact, they will be enrolled in the campaign, and the 1-day delay will begin.

A Modern Alternative: Using Workflows

You can now accomplish this same task, and much more, using the Workflows feature. Workflows provide a unified builder for creating complex automations, including delayed follow-up sequences. Consider exploring Workflows for a more powerful and flexible way to manage your event follow-ups.
