Use Embedded CRM Calendar Booking for Facebook Lead Ads
Overview
Embedded Calendar Booking for Facebook Lead Ads allows potential customers to schedule an appointment immediately after submitting an Instant Form. When the feature is supported by the platform, the booking experience from your CRM can be displayed directly on the form's confirmation page. This seamless process eliminates the need for leads to navigate to a separate webpage or re-enter their information, making it ideal for businesses that rely on appointments, such as those offering consultations, demos, or service bookings.
Key Benefits
This integration offers several advantages for your marketing campaigns.
- Streamlined Process: Leads can book an appointment without leaving the Facebook app, reducing friction and the number of steps required.
- Higher Conversion Rates: By minimizing redirects and repetitive data entry, you increase the likelihood that a lead will complete the booking.
- Accurate Availability: The appointment times shown are pulled directly from your CRM calendar, ensuring they reflect your real-time schedule.
- Efficient Setup: You simply need to paste your CRM scheduling link into the Facebook Instant Form editor.
- Automated Follow-up: Once a lead is captured and an appointment is booked, you can use your CRM's workflows for automated confirmations, reminders, and other follow-up actions.
How It Works
Facebook Lead Ads Instant Forms collect information from potential customers within the ad interface. Your CRM manages the lead data and the scheduling functionality. For the embedded booking to work, you provide a public scheduling link from your CRM calendar to the Facebook Instant Form. The platform then attempts to display the booking interface on the form's thank-you page.
It is important to note that the social media platform controls the form, the call-to-action, and the display of the booking experience. Your CRM is responsible for the calendar availability, booking rules, and appointment records.
Setup Instructions
To configure embedded booking, you must first prepare your calendar in the CRM and then connect it to your Facebook ad.
Step 1: Configure Your CRM Calendar
- In your CRM account, navigate to the calendar settings. You can typically find this by going to Calendars > Calendar Settings or Settings > Calendars from the main menu.
- Either use an existing calendar or create a new one specifically for this campaign.
- Copy the public scheduling link for the calendar you want leads to book appointments on.
Step 2: Configure Your Facebook Lead Ad
- Log in to Facebook Ads Manager and click + Create to start a new campaign.
- Select Leads as your campaign objective and proceed through the setup steps.
- At the ad set level, choose Instant forms as your conversion location.
- Create your instant form. In the Ending section, select Book time under Additional actions.
- Paste your CRM calendar URL into the Scheduling link field.
- Complete the rest of your ad setup and publish the campaign when ready.
Step 3: Set Up Follow-up Automation (Recommended)
After the technical setup, consider creating automated workflows in your CRM to handle new leads and appointments. You can trigger actions when a form is submitted or when an appointment is booked, such as sending confirmation emails, internal team notifications, and reminder messages.
Important Notes
- The embedded booking experience is currently optimized for ads shown within the Facebook mobile app. Ads delivered on other placements, such as Instagram, may open the booking page in a separate in-app browser instead.
- For the embedded feature to function correctly, use the default CRM domain for your calendar link. Branded domain links may not display the embedded preview and could open in a standard browser.
