Agency Guide to Reselling and Deploying WhatsApp

Overview

This guide explains how your agency can manage WhatsApp for your clients. You can choose to automatically resell the feature, setting your own pricing and billing clients directly, or you can deploy it manually and cover the costs yourself. The process you choose determines how billing and access are handled.

Before You Begin: Auto-Reselling Prerequisites

To use the auto-reselling feature, which allows you to set a price and bill your clients for WhatsApp, you must first connect your agency's Stripe account. This account will be used to collect subscription payments from your clients. If you do not connect Stripe, you can still deploy WhatsApp for clients, but your agency will be billed for the subscription directly.

Setting Up Auto-Reselling

Configuring Agency-Wide Pricing

To set a standard WhatsApp price for all your clients, navigate to your Agency Dashboard and locate the Reselling tab in the left-hand menu. Here, you can configure your default pricing offer.

Setting Custom Pricing for Specific Clients

You can offer a different rate to individual clients. To do this:

  1. Go to your Sub-Account list.
  2. Find the specific client, click the three-dot menu next to their name, and select Manage Clients.
  3. Navigate to the Reselling section.
  4. Update the WhatsApp pricing field with your custom rate and click Save.

Disabling the Offer for a Client

If you do not wish to offer WhatsApp to a particular client, you can disable the option before they purchase it.

  1. Go to your Sub-Account list, find the client, click the three-dot menu, and select Manage Clients.
  2. Scroll to the Reselling section.
  3. Toggle off the WhatsApp option and click Save.

Important Note: This option only prevents a sale from happening. Once a client has purchased WhatsApp, you cannot disable it from this menu. Disabling it after a subscription is active would cancel the service. To cancel an active subscription, please contact support.

Deploying WhatsApp Without Auto-Reselling

If you prefer to pay for the WhatsApp subscription yourself and provide it to a client without charging them, you can deploy it directly.

  1. Go to your Sub-Account list, find the client, click the three-dot menu, and select Manage Clients.
  2. Scroll to the Reselling section.
  3. Under WhatsApp, read and accept the terms for direct deployment, then click Pay Now.

Important Notes:

  • If your agency does not have a Stripe account connected, the WhatsApp tab will not be visible to the client until you complete this manual deployment.
  • Manual deployment does not create a billing subscription between your agency and the client. However, a subscription between the CRM platform and your agency will still be created.
  • When you deploy WhatsApp directly, any charges for WhatsApp conversations will be deducted from your agency's wallet balance. The client location will not be charged for these conversations.

Managing Billing and Subscriptions

To review your agency's WhatsApp billing details and see which client accounts are active:

  1. Navigate to Agency Settings > Billing > Subscription > Reselling WhatsApp.
  2. Scroll down and click Show Sub-Accounts to view a detailed list of all sub-accounts with active WhatsApp subscriptions.

Client Purchase Process

How Clients Find WhatsApp

Your clients can find the WhatsApp feature within their own sub-account settings. They should navigate to Settings > WhatsApp.

How Clients Complete Purchase

When a client decides to purchase, they will enter their payment details and click a confirmation button. The system will then automatically process the payment and set up the necessary subscriptions. Two separate subscriptions are created:

  1. Between your agency and the client's payment method.
  2. Between the CRM platform and your agency.

After purchase, the client will be redirected to a WhatsApp signup page to integrate their account.

How Billing Works

When a client purchases WhatsApp through auto-reselling, two subscriptions are established:

  1. Between the client's card and your agency Stripe account, allowing you to collect payment.
  2. Between the platform and your Stripe account, where you pay a monthly fee per location.

The monthly subscription fee includes free inbound and outbound messages within active conversation windows. An active window (24 hours) is created when a lead sends an inbound message or when you send an approved template message. This window extends with each new message exchanged.

To initiate a new conversation outside an active window (e.g., for outreach or after 24 hours of inactivity), you must use an approved template message, which incurs a per-message charge. All outbound template messages are charged to the location (and agency, if deployed directly) based on the destination country and the template type (Marketing, Utility, Authentication, or Service).
