Understanding Trigger Links in the Updated Interface
What is the Updated Trigger Links Interface?
The Trigger Links feature has been rebuilt with a modern, high-performance interface. This update provides a faster, more intuitive experience for creating and managing links that track clicks and trigger automations.
Key Benefits of the Updated Interface
The redesigned page offers several improvements:
- Faster Performance: The page loads instantly, eliminating waiting times.
- Cleaner Layout: A streamlined list view allows you to adjust column widths and choose between compact or comfortable viewing densities.
- Integrated Custom Value Picker: Easily insert dynamic values from contact, company, or location fields without needing to remember complex codes.
- Shareable Views: URLs now include your current search, page number, and row-limit settings, making it simple to share a specific view with teammates.
- Consistent Design: The new look and feel matches other updated areas of the CRM, making it easier for new users to learn.
Overview of the New Interface
A simplified toolbar at the top of the page provides access to global search, filters, and the option to create a new link. You can resize columns by dragging their edges. The three-dot menu on each row is context-sensitive, displaying relevant options like Edit, Copy URL, Analytics, and Delete to keep the interface uncluttered.
Using the Custom Value Picker
When creating or editing a trigger link, you will see a button with curly brackets {}. Clicking this opens a drawer where you can select from a list of available dynamic fields, such as a contact's first name or an appointment ID. The CRM automatically inserts the correct code into your destination URL, preventing errors and ensuring the value populates correctly when the link is used.
Sharing Your Current View
The URL in your browser's address bar updates in real-time as you search, change pages, or adjust the number of rows displayed. Copying and sharing this URL allows a colleague to see the exact same filtered list, which is ideal for collaborative reviews.
How to Use the Updated Trigger Links Page
Access Trigger Links
Navigate to the Conversations section from the main menu, then click on the Trigger Links tab. This ensures you are working within the correct module for tracking link clicks and connecting them to automations.
Create a New Link
Click the + New Trigger Link button in the top-right corner. A dialog box will appear where you can define your new link.
Define Link Details
In the creation dialog, provide a descriptive Name for the link and paste the full Destination URL. Use the {} button if you need to add a dynamic value. Click Save to add the link to your list.
Search for Links
Use the search bar on the right side of the page to find links by name. The list filters instantly as you type.
Edit or Delete a Link
Click the three-dot menu ⋮ on any link's row to access the Edit and Delete options. This allows for quick updates or removal of links directly from the list.
Copy the Link Key
Click the copy icon next to a link's Link Key to copy its unique tracking code to your clipboard. You can then paste this key into email templates, SMS messages, or workflow actions to start tracking clicks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my existing Trigger Links continue to work?
Yes. The update only affects the user interface. All existing links, their unique IDs, and their tracking functionality remain intact.
Can I switch back to the old design?
No. The previous version has been replaced, and all users now access the updated interface.
Do shared URLs contain sensitive information?
Shared URLs respect user permissions. A teammate without access to a specific sub-account or data will see an authorization error when using the link.
Where is the pagination control?
Pagination controls and the option to change the number of rows displayed per page are located at the bottom-right corner of the list.
Is there a limit to how many custom values I can add to a link?
There is no hard technical limit, but it is recommended to keep the total URL length under 2 KB to ensure compatibility with all email clients.
How do I view analytics for a link?
Click the three-dot menu ⋮ on a link's row and select Analytics. You can view metrics like unique clicks and top sources over customizable date ranges.
Do Trigger Links work in WhatsApp messages?
Yes. You can insert the copied link key into a WhatsApp template button or as an inline link to track taps, just as you would in an email or SMS.
