Voice AI Chat Widget
What is the Voice AI Chat Widget?
The Voice AI Chat Widget is a feature that enables your website visitors to have live, spoken conversations with an AI agent directly within their web browser. This experience uses the visitor's microphone and speakers to create a seamless, voice-first interaction without the need for a traditional phone call, downloads, or external applications.
Important: This feature is currently available in Labs and must be enabled by an Agency for its Sub-accounts.
Key Benefits
Integrating voice into your chat widget offers several advantages:
- Frictionless Engagement: Visitors can start speaking immediately without dialing a number or installing software.
- Natural Interaction: Human-like conversation helps keep prospects engaged for longer, allowing them to share more information.
- Increased Conversions: Real-time voice interaction helps qualify and convert leads while their interest is highest.
- Brand Customization: You can assign a custom name to your AI agent, reinforcing your brand identity.
- Built-in Security and Compliance: The widget includes reCAPTCHA protection to prevent abuse and displays a notice that calls are not recorded.
How the Voice-Only Chat Works
This widget type is configured for voice-only interaction. The entire conversation streams audio through the visitor's browser using WebRTC technology. It does not require a phone line (PSTN) or a separate VoIP setup, making it ideal for quick support, sales conversations, or demonstrations.
Important Notices and Limits
Call Recording Notice
To ensure transparency, the widget displays a banner stating, "All voice AI calls made using chat widgets cannot be recorded." This informs visitors and helps maintain compliance.
reCAPTCHA Protection
If a visitor connects or disconnects 10 times within a 60-second window, the system will prompt them with a Google reCAPTCHA challenge. This measure helps prevent automated bot abuse.
Concurrent Call Limit
You can create up to 100 different Voice AI agents. However, the number of simultaneous, active voice calls is limited to 20 per location. If a 21st call is attempted, the system will display a notification. Each location operates with its own 20-call limit to preserve audio quality during peak traffic.
Supported Actions
During a voice call, visitors can:
- Start a conversation with the AI agent.
- Mute the agent's audio.
- Provide their contact information.
- End or restart the call.
Note: The ability to transfer a call is not currently available.

Do visitors have to allow microphone access every time?
Most browsers will remember the permission after the first allowance. However, private or incognito browsing sessions will prompt for permission each time.
Can I offer both text chat and Voice AI in a single widget?
No, the Voice AI feature is currently a dedicated "Voice-Only" widget type. You would need to create separate widgets if you wish to offer both text and voice options.
Are the voice calls recorded?
No. The audio is streamed in real-time and is not recorded within the CRM to comply with privacy regulations.
What happens if the visitor's internet connection is lost?
The call will end. The visitor can click the microphone icon to attempt to reconnect. Repeated, rapid disconnections may trigger the reCAPTCHA challenge.
Does Voice AI work on mobile devices?
Yes, it is supported on mobile browsers like Safari (iOS 16+), Chrome, and Edge, provided the user grants microphone access.
Can I use different AI agents on different pages?
