Audit Logs
Understanding the CRM Audit Logs
Audit Logs serve as the definitive record of activity within your CRM account. They provide a timestamped history of actions, detailing who performed them and in which part of the system. This is essential for administrators to troubleshoot issues, ensure accountability, and meet compliance requirements. The updated interface presents this information in a clean, modern layout that is consistent with the rest of the CRM.
Key Benefits
The redesigned Audit Logs offer several advantages for efficient monitoring and investigation.
- Enhanced Visibility: Track all changes made to users, accounts, and settings to maintain a clear, auditable trail.
- Faster Issue Resolution: Quickly identify the source of unexpected changes, saving valuable time.
- Improved Security: Monitor user actions to help prevent unauthorized modifications and ensure policy adherence.
- Efficient User Management: Keep a detailed record of user activity, including account creations, edits, and deletions.
Navigating the Audit Logs Interface
The new layout is designed to keep you in context while you work.
Using the Details Drawer
Click on any row in the audit log table to open a details drawer on the right side of the screen. This drawer displays comprehensive information about the event, including the user, timestamp, and specific field-level changes (showing values before and after an update). The main table remains visible, so you never lose your place.
Keyboard Navigation
Once the details drawer is open, you can use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to cycle through the previous and next log entries. The drawer updates instantly, allowing for rapid review of long audit trails without using the mouse.
You can close the drawer by clicking the X icon or pressing the Escape key, which will return you to your exact previous position in the table.
Understanding Audit Log Filters
Filters help you narrow down the results to find the specific events you need.
- User: Select a specific team member to see only the actions they performed.
- Module: Focus on events from a particular area of the platform, such as Users, Contacts, or Websites/Funnels/Stores.
- Action Type: Limit results to a specific type of change, like Create, Update, or Delete.
- Time Range: Constrain results to a specific period. Audit log data is retained for 60 days.
How to Access Audit Logs
Audit Logs are available at both the agency and sub-account (location) levels. The logs you see are specific to the context you are in.
- To view agency-wide activity, navigate to Agency → Settings → Audit Logs.
- To view activity for a specific location, navigate to Sub-Account → Settings → Audit Logs.
Note: Audit logs for Notification Preferences are only available within the Sub-Account (Location) Audit Logs view.
Exporting Audit Logs
You can export your filtered audit logs to a CSV file. The export process runs in the background. You can monitor the progress and download the completed file from the Exports tab within the Audit Logs section.
