Configuring Global Settings for Services

Overview of Global Settings for Services

The Services Global Settings area is the central hub for configuring the foundational rules and appearance of your appointment booking system. Changes made here apply automatically to all services you offer, ensuring a consistent and professional booking experience for your clients. This guide explains each available setting.

Key Benefits

Using Global Settings provides several advantages for managing your services efficiently:

  • Unified Management: Control core booking, payment, and notification rules from a single location.
  • Brand Consistency: Maintain a uniform look, feel, and flow across all service booking pages.
  • Efficient Updates: Modify system-wide behaviors without needing to edit each individual service.
  • Scalable Foundation: Easily add new services that immediately adhere to your established operational standards.

In-App Settings

These settings configure the internal behavior of your service calendar and resources.

  • Calendar Start Day: Choose which day of the week (Monday, Saturday, or Sunday) your calendar view begins on.
  • Multiple Locations: Enable this option if your business operates from more than one physical address. This allows you to create and display different locations for customers to choose from during booking.
  • Resources: Toggle this on if you need to manage bookable assets like rooms, equipment, or vehicles. Enabling it adds a dedicated configuration area and prevents double-booking of these resources.
  • Add-ons: Enable this feature to offer supplementary products or services during the booking process. This creates a separate configuration tab for setting up these upsell items.

Booking Page Settings

This section controls the appearance and customer journey on your public booking page. It is organized into several key areas.

Customize Booking Page

Here you define the visual identity and layout of your booking page.

  • Company Name & Logo: Display your business branding at the top of the page.
  • Account Slug: This is the unique identifier used in the web address for all your service booking pages.
  • Booking Page Order: If using multiple locations, choose whether customers select a service first or a location first.
  • Booking Page Layout: Choose how services are displayed: as cards, in a list, or with a toggle that lets the customer choose the view.
  • Filter & Sort Menu Placement: Set whether filtering and sorting options appear horizontally at the top or vertically on the left side of the page.
  • Theme: Apply a light or dark theme to the page header, footer, and widgets.
  • Language: Select the display language for the customer-facing booking page.
  • Primary Color & Background Color: Set the main accent color for buttons and interactive elements, and choose a background color for the page.
  • Button Labels: Customize the text on key action buttons, such as the button to select a service and the final button to confirm the appointment.
  • Preview: Use this button to see a live preview of your booking page with all current settings applied.
  • Insert Custom Code: Add your own CSS code to achieve advanced visual customizations beyond the standard options.

Additional Settings for Booking

These options control specific booking behaviors.

  • Allow customers to pick who they book with: When enabled, customers can choose a specific staff member. If disabled, the system automatically assigns staff based on availability.
  • Hide the “Any Available” option: If staff selection is enabled, you can remove the "Any Available" choice, forcing customers to select a specific person.
  • Allow Multiple Service Selection: Let customers add more than one service to their cart in a single booking session.
  • Auto-Assign Staff Based On: Define the logic (e.g., round-robin) the system uses to assign a staff member when the customer does not make a selection.

Forms

Configure the information collected from customers during booking.

  • Select Form: Choose between a default form (collecting first name, last name, phone, and email) or a custom form you've created elsewhere in the CRM. This information creates a contact record.
  • Pre-populate Fields (Sticky Contacts): When enabled, the system uses browser cookies to remember a returning customer's details and auto-fill the form. Note: if multiple people use the same browser, information may be overwritten.
  • Consent Checkbox: Add a required checkbox to the form to obtain explicit customer consent, useful for terms of service or marketing permissions.

Confirmation Page

Define what happens after a booking is successfully made.

  • Redirect to Custom URL: After booking, send the customer to a specific webpage of your choice instead of the default confirmation screen.
  • Add to Calendar: Let customers download calendar invites (.ics files) for their appointment.
  • Share Appointment: Provide customers with a shareable link to their booking details.
  • Confirmation Page Message: Write a custom thank-you or confirmation message that appears on the default booking confirmation page.

Payment Settings

Establish the financial rules for your services.

  • Payment Modes: Choose which payment methods are available: online payments, cash/offline payments, or both.
  • Currency: Set the default currency for all service transactions.
  • Deposit Percentage: Define a fixed percentage of the service price that must be paid as a deposit at the time of booking.
  • Allow Partial Payments: When enabled, customers can pay a custom amount that is less than the full total at the time of booking.
  • Ask for Tip: Provide customers with an option to leave a tip during the checkout process.

Service Settings

Manage general rules related to service appointments.

  • Service Booking Title for Mobile: Customize the title that appears in the navigation bar when the booking page is viewed on a mobile device.
  • Buffer Time Before & After Appointments: Automatically add a gap before and/or after each appointment to allow for preparation or cleanup. This time is blocked on the calendar.
  • Minimum Scheduling Notice: Set how far in advance a customer must book an appointment (e.g., 1 hour, 24 hours).
  • Maximum Days to Book in Advance: Limit how far into the future customers can schedule appointments (e.g., 90 days).
  • Default Appointment Duration: Set a standard length for appointments, which can be overridden for individual services.
  • Time Increments: Define the granularity of selectable time slots (e.g., every 15, 30, or 60 minutes).

Notification Settings

Configure automated alerts for bookings.

  • Send Notifications To: Choose which staff members or roles receive notifications for new, changed, or cancelled appointments.
  • Customer Notifications: Manage the emails and/or SMS messages sent to clients to confirm their booking and provide reminders.

Third-Party Calendar Settings

Integrate with external calendars to sync appointments and avoid double-booking.

  • Sync Direction: Control whether appointments are pushed from your CRM to the external calendar, pulled from the external calendar into your CRM, or synced in both directions.
  • Sync Buffer Time: When syncing appointments out to a third-party calendar, you can add extra time (buffer) to the event's start and end times.
