Copy Ad Campaigns Between Sub-Accounts Using Snapshots
Agency users can save significant time during client onboarding by using Snapshots to duplicate pre-configured or high-performing ad campaigns from one sub-account to another. This feature allows you to create standardized campaign templates in a source location and load them into new or existing sub-accounts, providing a consistent starting point for advertising efforts.
Creating a Snapshot with Ad Campaigns
To begin, you need to create a snapshot from the sub-account that contains the campaigns you wish to copy.
- From the Agency view, navigate to the Account Snapshots page.
- Click the Create New Snapshot button.
- Give your snapshot a descriptive name and select the source sub-account where your desired ad campaigns are located.
- Review the list of assets available from the source. Ensure the ad campaigns you want to copy are present.
- Click Create. Your new snapshot will appear in the list.
Loading a Snapshot into a Target Sub-Account
Once your snapshot is created, you can load it into another sub-account.
- Go to your list of Sub-Accounts and select the target location where you want the campaigns copied.
- Within the target sub-account's settings, navigate to the Basic Details tab.
- In the top-right corner, click the Actions dropdown menu and select Load Snapshot.
- A four-step dialog will appear. In the first step, locate and select the snapshot you created earlier.
- In the second step, you will see a list of assets. Find the entries for Ad Campaigns - Meta and Ad Campaigns - Google. Select the specific campaigns you wish to load, then click Proceed.
- The third step will check for any conflicts with existing assets in the target sub-account. If conflicts are found, you can choose to skip or overwrite them.
- Confirm your selections to begin the loading process. Upon successful completion, a notification will appear under the bell icon in the top-right corner of your CRM.
Accessing Copied Campaigns
After the snapshot loads successfully, navigate to the target sub-account. The copied ad campaigns will appear in the Campaign Details list. Note that you must complete the standard onboarding process for the target account, which includes connecting the relevant Facebook account, Ad Account, and Facebook Page, before the campaigns will be fully accessible and ready for use.
Important Considerations
- Campaigns loaded into a target sub-account will be associated with the default connected Facebook Page for that location. Users can later change this association to a different page if needed.
- Certain Facebook-specific assets, such as Lead Forms, Custom Audiences, and Lookalike Audiences, are tied to the specific Ad Account and Business Manager connected at the source. These assets will not be copied as part of the snapshot process.
- If your source campaigns rely on these uncopied assets, you will need to recreate them or use equivalent assets associated with the Ad Account you connect during the target sub-account's onboarding.
