Dashboard widgets are interactive tools that display important data in visual formats such as charts, graphs, and tables. They help summarize complex information into easy-to-understand visuals, making it simpler to track performance and trends.

Customizing widgets allows you to:

• Focus on key metrics: Highlight data that matters most to your goals.
• Improve clarity: Adjust titles, filters, and layouts for better readability.
• Compare data easily: Use filters to analyze different metrics or time periods.
• Save time: Access relevant information quickly without distractions.

Accessing Widget Customization Options

To customize a widget:

1. Go to your dashboard.
2. Select the widget you want to modify.
3. Click on the widget to open its configuration options.

How to Customize a Widget

Step 1: Select the Widget

Choose the widget you wish to customize from your dashboard. By default, widgets use a pre-selected chart type. To change it, click the chart icon and pick a different visualization that suits your data.

Step 2: Configure Settings

Navigate to the Configure tab to adjust the following:

• Title: Edit the widget name for clarity.
• Metrics: Choose which data points to display. Multiple metrics can be added for line, bar, and horizontal bar charts.
• Group: Set grouping options for charts like donut charts.
• View By: Select a secondary dimension for visualizations.
• Breakdown: Adjust the time period frequency.
• Date Property: Pick a date type (e.g., Created Date) for data retrieval.
• Date Range Override: Override the dashboard’s global date range for this widget.
• Order: Sort results in ascending or descending order.
• Limit: Set a maximum number of results to show.
• Comparison Date Property: Add a comparison percentage for context.

Advanced settings are available for further customization but are optional.

Step 3: Add Conditions

Use conditions to filter data precisely:

1. Click Add Condition under the Conditions tab.
2. Choose a filter, operator, and parameters.
3. Add multiple filters using AND/OR logic or remove unnecessary ones.

Note: If no data matches a filter, you must adjust or remove it before saving.

Using Filter Groups

Group filters to apply OR logic between groups and AND logic within each group. This helps match real-world segments accurately.

To build groups:

1. Open the widget’s Conditions.
2. Click Add Filter to create Group 1.
3. Use +AND to add more filters within the same group.
4. Click +Add Filter again to start Group 2 (which adds an OR condition).
5. Repeat as needed and save.

Note: Visitor Data widgets support only one filter group.

Linked Filter Warnings

Some filters depend on each other (e.g., Pipeline and Stage). If combinations conflict, warnings appear inline to help you adjust conditions for accurate data.

Step 4: Save Changes

Once you’ve made all adjustments:

1. Click Save to update the widget.
2. Resize or reposition the widget on the dashboard if needed.
3. Save the dashboard layout to finalize your changes.
