How to Enable Domain Purchase and Set Up Recurring Billing
Enabling Domain Purchase for Your Agency
If you offer domain registration as part of your service package, you can activate this feature directly within your CRM. This allows your clients to purchase domains through your platform, and optionally enables you to pass the cost—and add a markup—through to them via your connected Stripe account.
Prerequisites
Domain purchase is available to agencies on eligible subscription plans. You must also have Stripe connected to your agency account if you intend to use the rebilling feature.
Steps to Enable Domain Purchase
- Navigate to your Agency Settings, then proceed to the Company section.
- Select Domain Purchase from the menu.
- Toggle the feature on and confirm your agreement to the terms.
- Click Enable to activate domain purchasing for your entire agency.
Once enabled, all sub-accounts (both existing and new) will see an option to purchase domains from within their own settings.
Configuring Recurring Billing for Clients
To avoid incurring domain costs yourself, you can set up rebilling so your clients are charged directly.
Enabling Rebilling for Individual Sub-Accounts
- Ensure the sub-account is switched to SaaS Mode. You can do this from your Agency account's Accounts tab by selecting the three-dot menu next to the sub-account and choosing "Switch to SaaS".
- From the same Accounts tab, click the "View Details" link for the desired sub-account.
- Scroll to the Domain Purchase Re-Sell Settings section.
- Toggle rebilling on.
- Use the slider to set your desired markup percentage, then save your changes.
Repeat this process for each sub-account where you want to enable rebilling.
How Rebilling Works
When rebilling is active:
- Your agency is invoiced by the platform for domain purchases.
- Your clients are charged through your connected Stripe account, with invoices bearing your branding.
- Funds are deposited directly into your Stripe account.
- The system uses credit balances from both agency and location wallets to manage transactions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who pays for the domain?
If rebilling is off, your agency covers the cost. If rebilling is on, your client is charged through your Stripe account.
Do I need Stripe to use rebilling?
Yes. A connected Stripe account is required for the rebilling feature to function. Without it, domain costs will default to your agency.
Can clients purchase domains directly?
Yes. Once enabled, clients can go to Settings > Domains in their sub-account to search for and purchase domains without leaving the platform.
Is this available on all plans?
No. You must be on a plan that includes SaaS Mode and have Stripe connected to use domain rebilling.
