Import Content from Another Course
What Is Importing Course Content?
Importing content from another course allows you to reuse existing educational materials—such as lessons, modules, or entire course structures—without rebuilding them from scratch. This feature is ideal for creating similar courses, reusing onboarding content, or developing templates for faster course production. Imported content is added to your destination course, where you can review, edit, and customize it before making it available to learners.
Key Benefits
Using the import feature offers several advantages:
- Save time: Reuse existing content instead of recreating it manually.
- Maintain consistency: Keep training materials uniform across multiple courses.
- Avoid duplication: Reduce effort when similar content is needed in different courses.
- Flexible options: Import individual lessons, selected modules, or full course structures.
- Full editability: Customize imported content within the destination course after import.
What Content Is Imported?
When you import content, the following elements are copied into the destination course:
- Lesson titles and structure
- Module and submodule hierarchy
- Videos and attached media
- Thumbnails
- Descriptions and formatted content
- Quiz questions
- Assignments and resources
After importing, review the content to ensure all elements are present and correctly structured for your learners.
Important Considerations
Before importing, keep these points in mind:
- Imported content is copied, not linked. Changes made to the original course will not affect the imported version.
- Changes to imported content only apply to the destination course.
- Existing content in the destination course is not overwritten; imported items are added alongside it.
- Always review imported content before publishing or sharing with learners.
