Tagging Courses in Community Posts and Comments

What Is Course Tagging?

Course tagging allows you to reference specific courses directly within community posts and comments. By typing a hashtag (#) and selecting a course from the searchable list, you can embed a clickable link to that course. This helps keep discussions focused and makes it easy for members to access relevant learning materials without leaving the conversation.

Benefits of Tagging Courses

Tagging courses offers several advantages for both community managers and members:

  • Contextual Discovery: Members can discover courses exactly when they’re being discussed.
  • Quick Navigation: Clicking a course tag takes users directly to the course page.
  • Cleaner Posts: Replace long URLs with short, readable tags.
  • Guided Learning: Recommend next steps or related courses without interrupting the flow of conversation.
  • Familiar Interface: Uses the same hashtag-based tagging system available for other objects in your CRM.

How Members Use Tagged Courses

When a member clicks on a course tag, they are taken directly to the course page. What they see depends on the course’s access settings:

  • If the member has access, they can view course details or the curriculum.
  • If they don’t have access, they may be prompted to purchase or request access, depending on how the course is configured.
