Understanding Client Performance with the Location-Level Breakdown Widget

Analyzing Client Performance in the Agency Dashboard

The Location-Level Breakdown widget is a powerful tool within your CRM's Agency Dashboard designed to give you a clear financial overview of each of your client sub-accounts. This widget allows you to move beyond a simple agency-wide summary and compare the performance of individual locations side-by-side. You can quickly identify which clients are profitable, which are underperforming, and where there might be potential revenue loss.

What is the Location-Level Breakdown Widget?

This reporting widget is located in the Reselling section of the Agency Dashboard. Its primary function is to display key financial metrics—such as revenue, cost, profit, and profit margin—for each of your client sub-accounts. It provides a consolidated view, eliminating the need to manually check the usage or billing data for every single client. Once you spot a location that requires attention, you can open its detailed view to examine product-level performance, monthly trends, and available reselling configuration settings.

Key Benefits of Using the Widget

Using this widget offers several advantages for managing your agency's reselling business:

  • Client Profitability at a Glance: Compare revenue, costs, profit, and margins across all your sub-accounts in a single, unified table.
  • Quick Risk Identification: Sort the list of locations by any metric to quickly find clients with high costs, low margins, or those operating at a loss.
  • Informed Revenue Optimization: Pinpoint locations where pricing strategies, markups, or other reselling settings might need adjustment to improve profitability.
  • Reduced Revenue Leakage: Identify sub-accounts where usage costs may not be fully billed to the client or where profit margins are unexpectedly thin.
  • Deeper Performance Insights: Drill down into a specific sub-account to review revenue and cost breakdowns for individual products.
  • Actionable Trend Analysis: Use the timeline view to understand how a location's financial performance has changed over previous months.

How to Access the Widget

You can find the Location-Level Breakdown widget by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your CRM and ensure you are in the Agency view.
  2. Navigate to the Agency Dashboard.
  3. Click on the Reselling tab.
  4. Within the Reselling tab, you will need to select either Usage Products or Subscription Products to view the relevant data.

The Reselling tab offers these two distinct views to help you analyze different types of reselling arrangements. Choosing the correct view ensures you are looking at the appropriate data for license-based subscriptions or usage-based billing before making any decisions.

  • Usage Products View: Use this to analyze reselling activity where charges are based on consumption, such as the volume of usage.
  • Subscription Products View: Use this to review performance for recurring, subscription-based products, including license counts and recurring revenue.

Using Filters to Refine Your View

Filters allow you to narrow down the data displayed in the widget to focus on specific information. Applying the right filters ensures you analyze the correct sub-accounts, products, and timeframes.

  • Sub-Account Filter: Focus the report on one or more specific client locations.
  • Product Filter: Review data for all products or narrow it down to specific product categories.
  • Date Range Filter: Set a custom period to review performance for that specific timeframe.
  • Include Only Resold Transactions: When enabled, this filter shows only transactions that have been resold to your clients.
  • Export Data: You can download the data as a CSV file for offline analysis, reporting, or sharing with your team.

Understanding the Metrics

The main table in the widget presents a clear financial summary for each sub-account. The key metrics displayed are:

  • Location / Sub-Account: The name of the client location.
  • Revenue: The total amount billed to the sub-account for the selected period.
  • Cost: The total cost incurred for the sub-account during the selected period.
  • Profit: The amount calculated as Revenue minus Cost.
  • Profit Margin: The Profit expressed as a percentage of the Revenue.

Additional Visual Insights

The Reselling dashboard also includes graphical widgets that provide a visual representation of your data. These graphs help you quickly grasp how revenue, costs, and profits are distributed and how they trend over time.

  • Revenue Distribution: A graph showing which products are generating the most revenue.
  • Cost Distribution: A visual breakdown of which products account for the largest share of your costs.
  • Profit Distribution: A chart illustrating which products contribute most to your overall profit.
  • Revenue Growth: A trend line displaying how revenue has changed over time for different products.
  • Profit Growth: A trend line showing the change in profitability over time.
