Using the Spread to Column Option in Forms and Surveys

The Spread to Column feature allows you to arrange the options for radio buttons, checkbox lists, and radio image fields into multiple columns. This is useful for creating more compact, visually organized, and easier-to-read forms and surveys.

How to Enable Spread to Column

To arrange your field options into columns, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Form or Survey Builder.
  2. Click on a Radio Button, Checkbox, or Radio Image field to select it.
  3. In the settings panel on the right, locate and enable the Spread to Column option.
  4. Once enabled, specify the desired number of columns for the options.

Key Benefits

  • Improved Layout: Distribute options across columns to create a cleaner and more structured appearance, preventing long, single-column lists.
  • Enhanced Usability: A multi-column layout can make it faster and easier for respondents to scan and select their choices, improving the overall form-filling experience.

Important Notes

  • The maximum number of columns you can set depends on the overall form layout. For forms using a single-column design, the maximum is 5 columns. For two-column form layouts, the maximum is 2 columns. For single-line column layouts, the maximum is also 5 columns.
  • This feature only applies to forms and surveys created or edited after the feature's release. It does not automatically change the layout of existing forms.
