Using SMS Verification in Forms and Surveys
About SMS Verification
SMS verification is a feature for forms and surveys that allows you to confirm a contact's phone number is valid and accessible. When enabled, users submitting a form can verify their phone number by entering a one-time code sent via text message. This helps improve the quality of your contact data by reducing errors and unverified submissions.
How SMS Verification Works
For the Form User
When a user fills out a form with SMS verification enabled, the process is straightforward:
- The user enters their phone number into the designated field.
- A Verify Phone button appears next to the field.
- Clicking the button triggers an SMS to be sent to the provided number containing a unique verification code.
- The user then enters this code into a field on the form.
- Once the correct code is submitted, the phone number is marked as verified, and the user can complete the rest of the form.
For the Account Owner
In your CRM, submissions from forms using this feature will include a Phone Verified field. When a phone number is successfully verified during submission, this field will show Yes, making it easy to filter and identify contacts with confirmed numbers.
Important Notes
- Billing: Each verification code sent via SMS (an OTP message) is billed according to your standard messaging rates.
- Field Requirement: The phone number field in your form must be set as a required field for the SMS verification option to function.
