Saved Sections for Funnels, Websites, Webinars, and Stores

Introduction to Saved Sections

Saved Sections are a powerful CRM feature that lets you create and store content blocks for easy reuse across your funnels, websites, webinar pages, and e-commerce stores. You can choose from three distinct types of sections—Universal, Global, and Template—each offering a different level of flexibility and control over how content updates are synchronized. This system helps maintain design consistency and significantly speeds up the page-building process.

Understanding the Three Section Types

The key to using Saved Sections effectively is understanding the behavior of each type.

Universal Sections

Universal Sections are saved at your account level. When you edit a Universal Section on any page, that change is automatically synchronized to every other instance of that section across all your funnels, websites, webinars, and stores. This is ideal for content that must remain identical everywhere, like a universal header or footer.

Global Sections

Global Sections are saved at the level of a single funnel or website. Changes made to a Global Section will sync to every other instance of that section only within the same funnel or website. This is useful for content that is specific to a single campaign or site.

Template Sections

Template Sections are static, reusable copies. When you insert a Template Section onto a page, it becomes an independent copy. Editing a Template Section on one page will not affect any other instances of that template on other pages. This is perfect for content blocks that serve as a starting point but may need to be customized for each specific use.

How to Save a Section

Follow these steps to save a section for future use.

Step 1: Open the Page Editor

Navigate to the funnel, website, webinar, or store page you want to edit and open the page editor.

Step 2: Select a Section

Within the editor, click on the specific section you wish to save.

Step 3: Initiate the Save

Click the "Save Section" option. A modal window will appear for you to configure the save settings.

Step 4: Choose a Section Type

Select one of the three section types: Universal, Global, or Template. Consider your long-term needs for this content, as the type cannot be changed after saving.

Step 5: Name and Preview

Give your section a clear, descriptive name. An automated preview will help you identify it later.

Step 6: Finalize and Use

Complete the save. When editing another page, you can insert your saved section by using the "Add Section" option and browsing your library of saved sections.

Best Practices for Management

  • Plan Ahead: Decide on the section type (Universal, Global, or Template) before saving, as it is permanent.
  • Use Universal for Consistency: Reserve Universal Sections for elements like headers, footers, or disclaimers that must be identical across your entire account.
  • Use Global for Campaign-Specific Content: Use Global Sections for content that is unique to a single funnel or website.
  • Use Templates for Customizable Blocks: Template Sections are best for content that will be used as a starting point and then modified for each page.
  • Change Types by Cloning: If you need to change a section's type, clone the existing section and save the clone under the new desired type.

Using AI Revisions with Saved Sections

When using AI to revise your pages, the behavior depends on the target of the revision and the type of section involved.

  • Targeting a Single Section: If you instruct the AI to revise a specific saved section, the changes should be confined to that section.
  • Page-Wide Style Revisions: If you request a page-wide style change (like updating fonts or colors), the AI may update multiple sections on the page, including saved sections.
  • Sync Implications: Revisions to Universal or Global Sections will sync to all linked instances once published. Revisions to Template Sections remain local to that page.
  • Best Practice: To create a page-specific variant without affecting synced sections, insert a Template Section (or clone an existing section) and then apply the AI revision to that copy. Always review the change summary before publishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change a section's type after saving it?

No. Once a section is saved as Universal, Global, or Template, its type is permanent. To change the type, you must clone the section and save the clone with the new type.

Is there version history for Global or Universal Sections?

No. Saved sections do not have a version history. Once a change is saved and published, the previous version is overwritten and cannot be restored.

If I restore a previous version of a page, will it also restore older versions of the sections on it?

No. Global and Universal Sections always display their most recently saved version. Restoring a page does not revert the content of synced sections to an older state.

Do edits to a Universal Section update everywhere?

Yes. Any edit made to a Universal Section and published will automatically sync to every instance of that section across your entire account.
